St. Augustine Island Inn

My daughter and I came down for a few days of her spring break. Our room was clean and comfortable and fit our needs. The areas was quite and we felt safe at all times. The owners are onsite and available if needed and were very accommodating. The hotel is an older hotel, but it has been updated with modern fixtures. Although it is not directly on the ocean, there are plenty of public parking areas within a few mins drive or you can walk via the park just south of the hotel. Downtown was a nice 27 min drive and there are many restaurants within that same driving radius.

The manager is very friendly and respectful, she took her time to share what's in the area. The room was clean and she gave us exceptional service . Very close to the beach, all you need for a vacation. Strongly recommended.

The worst place you can stay at St. Augustine comes with a very aggressive receptionist that will verbally and physically attach you and has zero manners. The place is dirty and sheets are all covered in stains . Do not stay here

WORST hotel staff and stay ever. This is much worst than many other countries I have stayed. RUTHLESS hotel staff. DIRTY bed sheets. LOSS money here. The WORST thing really is the hotel staff. The person kept showing up unannounced by the car or spying on us while walking outside to later said she saw us in her videos. We had issues with two rooms, did not get any money back, she continually said you can leave if you want in a demeanor tone of voice. Total HARASSMENT. We even call the police but they could not help us. However the were great in explaining us some things about the hotel reservation. Please read before you sign. Regardless, WORST EVER experience in America. Don’t stay here.

The worst hotel I’ve experienced in 50 years. Front desk staff were ruthless animals. Gave away my room and left me trying to find another hotel. They sold my room for an extra $50 give or take because Daytona 500 was in town and they wanted to make a few more bucks. I booked the room 3 weeks prior to arriving. After driving 9 hours, they said upon arrival, sorry, we sold your room. The place was dirty anyway, and another guest there was berating the front desk staff for another problem. This is a small family- run (and greatly-inept operation) and all I can say is don’t even think about staying here. Low-life management… to be kind.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Traveled 8 hours to attend a funeral and when I arrived at 3PM at the hotel they gave my room to someone else. They had EMAILED me earlier in the day to tell me my credit card was not valid and since I had not responded to them within 30 minutes of the email they gave my room to someone else. I was alone, this was a holiday weekend and there were no other rooms available in the area. There answer was NOT MY PROBLEM NOW GET OUT! They charge your room the morning BEFORE you arrive? They had my phone # they could have called. They had no concern whatsoever for a woman, alone with nowhere to stay. Karma will catch up with these horrible people.

This is a well-located, clean and very reasonably priced hotel. The management was very friendly and helpful, even recovered some valuables we mistakenly left behind! We'd recommend if you're looking for something in the area that is affordable and clean.

Walking distance from the beach. Clean room. Friendly staff. Kids loved the pool. Extra towels upon request. Very quiet. We loved watching the sunrise. Kids loved making Sandcastles and playing in the water.

Booked a room here last minute on a Saturday night for me and my daughter. We checked in after 10pm and it was easy enough using the window at the entrance of the hotel. Staff was polite and asked many questions regarding were we having visitors, extra guests etc., and issued a single card key which we were to return prior to check out. Room was clean, very straightforward, no fluff. Towels, sheets and blankets were clean. A lot of reviews for this hotel were super negative due to the condition of the room and appointments— the hotel is older and the sheets and towels are well worn, the fridge, microwave and tv were well used as well— room has an air conditioning unit versus central air. Our room access was by an exterior stairway, to a second floor entrance to the hotel—there was no lobby access to the hotel. None of these things were and issue for us- it was cozy and clean. If you are looking fo shiny, new, sterile and cold this place is not going to be for you. The very clean pool and covered parking were a bonus and it was nice to shower off all the sand and then take a quick dip after the beach. The hotel is beachside and you can walk or drive to many beach access points. Restaurants are a fair walk away from the hotel- some may want to drive. Our two night stay was cheaper than a single room at most resorts on A1A and it fit the accommodations. We wanted a place to crash, catch the beach and be unbothered and for us it was just right for a spontaneous beach run.
