Premier Inn Luton South (M1, J9)

Overall the stay was good but there were a couple of little niggles. The first was a temperamental toilet flush, which seemed to resolve itself once my husband had used it (perhaps he has the magic touch)! The second was the radiator was very noisy throughout the night which did disturb my sleep. Apart from these issues the stay was fine, room was clean, the bed was comfortable and there were extra pillows which came in handy.

it was an average hotel, the bathroom was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned. i found hair on the floor by the window. its ok for one night stay for the airport if you don't wanna pay that much but to be honest you could do better, the staff were very welcoming

After reading reviews of this hotel the night before my stay I started to get a little nervous as I couldn’t see many positive ones at all. However after our stay here before flying from Luton airport I felt I should leave a review in order to reassure anyone else who is feeling this way and also to give the place some credit. It wasn’t at all as bad as I was expecting after reading everything I had, yes it was a little worn (hallway carpets not great etc.) but it was very clear they were working on it. Many workmen around fitting new doors etc. so clearly they are working on their issues. Our room was clean and quiet, and really the same quality I would expect from any premier inn. The receptionist I will admit was not particularly friendly but they gave us the information needed to check into the room which really was all that they were required to do. The harvester restaurant next door to the hotel was lovely and welcoming which was great for a quick lunch before heading to the airport which was also conveniently nearby! Overall, not the most fabulous hotel or premier inn I have ever stayed in but certainly not as scary as I had expected based on other reviews I had seen.

Far from being a hotel snob, we’ve used Premier Inns across the country for overnight stays when visiting family and have always been happy at the good/consistent standard. This PI is in a league of its own, and not in a good way. The room was tiny and smelt strongly of damp. The bathroom had no extractor fan and the shower cubicle (no bath) was filthy. The curtain rail was broken and there were signs of mildew around the window seals. The radiator (not sure why needed, given aircon) clicked and buzzed constantly. On the upside, the beds were of the usual PI quality and we slept well. Breakfast food was in line with other PIs. Breakfast room itself was tiny and felt like a care home lounge. We had to give a specific time for breakfast when we checked in which took away any feeling of flexibility. Couldn’t wait to check out and am very happy we’re unlikely to need to stay in the area again.

My trip and stay here was a big disappointment unfortunately! My room had paper thin walls so I could hear everything from the rooms above me and both rooms to the side. I literally didn’t get any sleep. The mattress and pillows weren’t very comfortable- they seemed old and well used. The pillow protectors were even stained. Considering I visited in February which is winter, the quilt on the bed was a summer one- very light and we were cold and there wasn’t another one or a blanket that we could use. The toilet didn’t flush very well either. The whole place looked like it needed a big refurbishment. The only good thing was that the breakfast was really nice with lots of choice. The chef ( I think) came out and she was lovely but the rest of the staff weren’t very friendly and didn’t even acknowledge us! They were always stood outside the main entrance smoking.

The room smelt of pizza when we opened the door. After a few mins we realised what it was. Someone had thrown up in the sink and blocked the pipe. We told reception who said the cleaning staff left at 6pm. We had to clean up another guests sick!!!! Grim.
