Hotel Vasco Da Gama

This place is a treasure and such a great/lucky find for us. We had no recommendations and didn’t know what we were going to but this was our favourite place to stay so far on our Camino journey. It was really clean and spacious, warm and hospitable! The owner is so accommodating and friendly and the breakfast was perfect for the day of walking ahead. I would recommend this place to any pilgrim that wants a comfortable homely stay. There’s also lovely places for food/drink on the road right by it and we had a great conversation with a family in the bar just up the road. Such a friendly and restful town that only adds to the excellent experience of our stay here!! Thank you so much for having us!!

Excellent stay on the Camino Portuguese. Exceptional service from the owner making reservations and when we were staying there. The room was comfortable and very clean. The owner was the helpful in calling taxi for us to return to Baione to sightsee and very accommodating with breakfast for our early departure.

The hotel is very welcoming with a nice garden. The room was clean , confortable and spacious. It is located on the way of Il camino so very handy for those as us doing that journey. Next to the hotel there is a laundrette: very handy too! Breakfast was nice: the host kept refilling our plates and even donated us fresh avocados from his garden. The strenghts of the hotel are not only location and functionality but as well customer service. I have forgotten the reloader of my mobile and only noticed it missing a few days later after i left the hotel. Alvaro from the hotel has immediately replied to my enquiry confirming the cable was left at their premises and promised me to send it back. When he went to the closest postal office, they would not accept the mail as it would be classified as a ‘ small package’ He went till Baiona city center to make the delivey and he did not even want me to pay for it. It is by far the sweetest thing they have done for me in a long list of hotels i have visited. I am so grateful and moved!🥹😍 Thank you Alvaro🤗🤗🤗 and Vasco de Gama hotel for treating your guests as they would be family! ( the nice family!😀) . This hotel is super recommended!
