Hedgefield House

Had a lovely overnight stop here whilst dropping my niece off at Durham Uni. Hedgefield House is stunning inside and out, such a shame we were only here for a quick stop off. David was so helpful and friendly and everything we needed was provided. I had the best nights sleep I've had in a very long time. We would definitely revisit and highly recommend

Wow....what a wonderful find. We stayed here on our way back from Scotland, before finishing our journey back to Wales. A beautiful building steeped in history set on beautiful grounds. We were in Rooms 2, 3 and 5...and all of us were blown away by the decor, style and size of each room...stunning. We knew we were not going to make the 9.30pm check in, and when we called with our eta, the Manager was understanding, helpful and assured us that to be no problem. His welcome was warm and friendly. Super comfy beds...the perfect stop gap to break up our long journey. We have already decided to visit again on the future, and will be booking direct for a better deal. I stayed for 4 nights and found staying at the Hedgefield to be a very pleasureble experience . Very comfortable, spotlessly clean, very quiet, lovely gardens, comfortable beds. In a perfect location a real little hidden gem, close by you had a restaurant, a little further walk you had a pub that also sold food, you could even walk to the local shops. Car not necessary, bus stop right outside to visit Metrocentre and Newcastle centre. Owner David was on hand if you needed anything. I certainly have no hesiatation in recommending the Hedgefield and will be returning with my wife for a chilled break.

We stayed here while attending a wedding at the Restaurant next door. It is a beautifully put together guest house with quirky features that I loved. Our room was very comfortable with a large bathtub in the bathroom and separate dressing room. The gardens are exceptional. David was so welcoming on arrival. I will definitely stay here again so I get to enjoy it more when I'm not out at a wedding. There is no food served but the Restaurant next door offers plenty of choice and there's lots within distance. Loved our stay. Will definitely return!

Another fabulous stay at this beautiful hidden gem. It’s like being in a quiet tranquil bubble. It’s warm, comfortable, relaxing an peaceful. We were in our favourite room it’s beautifully appointed and tastefully decorated with loads of space, comfy bed and fabulous amenities. The only downside is we had to leave to soon.
