Rimu Lodge was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, the owner, Sue Allen, made us feel incredibly welcome. Our room was beautifully decorated and offered a breathtaking view, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere. Every detail was thoughtfully curated—from the fresh milk for our tea and coffee to the complimentary drinks and chocolates, all adding to the sense of warmth and hospitality.
Breakfast was exceptional, with a delicious selection of cooked options to choose from. The entire experience was nothing short of wonderful. I highly recommend staying for at least two nights to fully appreciate the charm and comfort of this remarkable lodge.

Luxurious b&b with a large terrace giving views of the river, mountains and sunsets. We’ll appointed spacious rooms. Host provided an excellent breakfast and early evening drinks. Within walking distance of local character restaurant. Charming host, highly recommended.

Amazing place place to stay. Sue-Ellen is the perfect host. Love the idea of happy hour between 5-6pm where she supplies drinks and you get to meet the other guests. There are just 4 rooms but definitely high end. You can walk to the local bar where we had a lovely meal and the bar brings you back to the lodge! Sue gave us plenty of ideas where to go to and provide maps etc. couldn’t fault this at all

Faultless! I’d give this accommodation a 6 if I could. They even made allowances for my gluten intolerance with super effort and made me feel like I didn’t want to go anywhere else. Very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Loved the extra attention to detail like the bigger towel plus and extra for your hair if needed.

We spent two nights at Rimu Lodge, a delightful hideaway with 4 guest rooms. Beautifully presented by SueEllen, who makes all her guests feel special. Real attention to detail, whether it be big fluffy towels, quality bed linen or deliciously presented fruit at breakfast. The high ceilinged lounge / breakfast room with its comfortable sofas, fresh fragrant flowers and abundance of coffee table books about the local area and wildlife was a great place to relax. This really is a super place which you’ll love from the moment you arrive, and you’ll be missing it from the moment you leave……. Thank you for looking after us

We had a wonderful stay at this lodge. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. There was a beautiful view from our room and the breakfast was delicious. Happy hour was an added bonus. The owner, Sue Ellen, was extremely accommodating. I highly recommend this boutique lodge.

We stayed for 3 nights at Rimu Lodge as part of our 40th anniversary holiday. Sue Ellen was a great host, very helpful and informative. The lodge is perfectly situated in stunning countryside, quiet but only a short drive to town. Our room was spacious, and included a fridge and the bed so comfortable we slept so well. The breakfasts are delicious. This was a lovely place to stay and we would definitely recommend staying here.

An outstanding lodge experience. Sue Ellen could not do enough for us. Drinks on the terrace ( included in room rate) and an outstanding freshly cooked breakfast in the morning. Our room was lovely with superb views and classy fixtures and fittings. A real gem .

Beautiful lodge with a great view and deck. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Only drawback is the rooms are not sound proof. I could hear someone in the next room TV and some one snoring. Not sure how this can be resolved. Could be a problem if you are a light sleeper.
