Lovely small hotel, very clean, comfortable bed, warm room (it was a cold spring weekend!), plenty of hot water, delicious continental breakfast with great coffee and freshly squeezed juice, very friendly staff. In the medieval heart of Rouen, a few minutes' walk to all the sites, surrounded by lovely restaurants and bars. Most of the other guests seemed to be French, so clearly it's appeal is authentic! Reasonable prices.

Stayed here a couple of nights, its not exactly a hotel more like a few rooms above the restuarant. Room was very basic but comfortable bed and bathroom. Main draw here is that its right in the heart of the old town a comfortable walk to all the sights and 15 mins walk to train

A quirky and clearly very popular place in the very heart of Rouen. Our room was on the small side but had all we needed. Very friendly staff. The restaurant wasn't doing meals the night we were there but the breakfast next morning was excellent. There are any number of good restaurants within a few minutes. The hotel also does a very helpful deal with the local carparks. The relaxed an informal atmosphere belies a very professionally run place. good value.

We were delighted with our choice of la Vieux Carre hotel. It was very small, French and friendly. It was about as central to the historical heart of Rouen as we could get, we could comfortably walk to most of the museums and churches. The streets were safe and interesting and our hosts very helpful and accommodating of our limited French and elderly abilities . During our stay , of a full week, it was full everyday and fellow guests appeared quite happy with their choice of 1or 2 nights there.

This quaint hotel is about 1-km walk from the train station. Located in the old Rouen, it is perfect for visitors wishing to explore on foot the old streets with its timber-frame houses. No free parking nearby. A couple of grocery stores about 5-min walk away. The room itself was on the ground floor next to the kitchen and garden (beautiful flowers!). In the afternoon, during teatime, one could hear people talking and some noise from the kitchen but in the evening, it was very quiet. And cool. The room had no air conditioning but, being on the ground floor, was probably the coolest in the old building. It was also somewhat spacious and had a large bathroom with the usual toiletries. The 2 single beds were reasonably comfortable. Everything was clean. One small note: a ventilation fan was running constantly nearby and was a bit noisy. I asked if it could be shut down and the owner did close it for the night. Just a matter of asking. For its category, this hotel offers good accommodation for the price. Just keep in mind it's a very old building with its quirts but that's part of the charm.

We had 2 days at this hotel with our son and daughter-in-law it was the most amazing weekend ever the Hotel was amazing set in the middle of Rouen 3 minutes walk from bookable car park the Hotel was small and friendly we only had breakfast but the menu was really good proper French breakfast and plenty of it , bedrooms were clean and very comfortable a beautiful little courtyard outside to sit and have coffee or afternoon tea we are planning our next trip to go back thank you for a wonderful stay mr and Mrs steel

Quite a nice hotel, but as I lay in bed, Oscar Wilde’s famous last words suddenly came to mind: “This wallpaper and I are fighting a duel to the death. Either it goes or I do”. See my pictures and you’ll see why! The hotel itself was quant and well located, just a 10 minute walk from the station. My room was very basic (rather like student accommodation) and quite noisy. I was woken on numerous occasions during the night by screaming, drunk locals and by a hysterical woman crying non-stop, very loudly at 4am for about twenty minutes. The owner was friendly and helpful. The breakfast (€9) was satisfactory, nothing spectacular. So. Overall, a quirky (if a tad expensive) and we’ll located hotel!

Le Vieux Carre is conveniently located to all the sites in Rouen. The rooms are basic but the public areas are comfortable. Since we spend most of our time out of our hotel room, basic was fine for us. The breakfast is basic -- breads, a few meats and cheeses, coffee. The hotel is very popular for lunch and afternoon tea. I second the other reviewers comments about the parking -- definitely make sure you know how to access the parking at the Palais de Justice. We drove around for a while trying to follow a street sign that pointed in the wrong direction and finally just happened upon the entry.
