Kiwi As Guest House

Recently stayed at the property. Our stay was quite comfortable. Seen good changes as the new owners take over and big renovations on its way. New owners have maintained good standards in cleanliness. Hoping the best wishes to owners for their future endeavours.

We were only staying for 2 nights and using the guest house as a base for the night. The first thing you notice when you enter is the temperature is about 8 degrees warmer inside than outside (when outside was shirt and shorts weather). The manager was friendly and did a quick tour of the place and took us to our room. The room had two singles as requested with a bathroom on suite. The bathroom had a shower curtain that kept getting in the way and I literally had to kneel to be able to get under the shower to wash my hair. The room only had two sets of plugs only on one side of the room and very high up so you couldn't even put your phone on charge using the top socket. The beds were nice and firm and comfortable as were the pillows. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin and so we got to hear the excited moans of the couple next door both on Saturday night and Sunday morning keeping us awake or waking us up. The fridge wasn't in the kitchen. You have to go through the kitchen and around the back to find it. The guest / tv area looked very nice, but we didn't use it. It was ample, but could have been a lot better.

Great experience! Dave was super kind, helpful, and informative when we needed to extend our stay due to bad weather affecting our backpacking plans. Rooms are clean and very spacious. Highly recommend if you are traveling through and need a good place to stay in Rotorua.

Recently had the chance to stay at kiwi as guest house while visiting rotorua. We booked a family room which was good and spacious for 5 of us. The room was in great condition. Beds were comfortable. It was a quite a smooth experience. Property is right in the middle of Rotorua town centre, next to Polynesian spa, Rotorua’s famous Eat Street, big grocery store in walking distance. New owners and great service from them. Took care of everything we needed.

Stayed here multiple times over the years and my recent stay has never been better. There a new renevations that have been done by the new owners. Vineet and Dave treated us so well and I truly believe this business is now in better hands. Excited to see the new up coming renevations when I return.

The room was small. The only light in the room was in the centre of the ceiling. Patches of paint were missing on the bright blue walls. The only towels provided was a bath mat and bath-towel...no hand-towel.....no toiletries for showering, (except for some liquid soap at the hand basin). The bed was comfortable. A fan was provided and needed as it was so warm and the only window could only be open about 10cm.......Overall a VERY OLD and run down establishment......but a cheap place to stay in these days where other establishments are expensive.
