The Victoria Hotel

On the positive side the hotel staff were lovely very welcoming and helpful. My sister and I stayed for 3 nights from 4th - 7th July to celbrate her 70th birthday. First problem, reception was up 2 flights of stairs - no lift. The barman from Ghillies was very helpful and carried our suitcases up to reception. We then discovered our bedroom was to be up another 4 flights of stairs! Fortunately the receptionist was able to shuffle things around and put us on the second floor which we were very grateful for. So, anyone with breathing or mobility problems who might be considering this hotel should really think about the problems they might have every time they leave their room to go out. Our twin room was fresh and clean with lovely views across the river. We ate at Ghillies Bar and Restaurant on our first night, but it closed just after 8pm, we were the only 2 people eating at that point. The bar also closed then, and the bar on the first floor never opened during our stay. There was no telephone in our room, and no night porter on site, just a number at the front door to ring should we need assistance. On a good note I'd like to say Breakfast was really good, lots to choose from, served in the first floor restaurant with fantastic views across the river.

Came here on a whim for some breakfast and had a great time with excellent service by Ashley who’s a top guy. If your ever passing by come in for some good food

Paid for two nights bed and breakfast . Left after the first night . The staff are nice and the room was nice . The breakfast however was the worst I’ve ever been served at a hotel . The egg was like rubber and whole breakfast tasted like rancid oil so I pushed all the food to one side and thought I’d just have toast and jam . Wrong again as the jam was covered in green mould . When I told the manager later in the day ( as they are not there full time )there was no offer to compensate for breakfast for the following morning even though she knew we were leaving and I showed her photos of my breakfast . The hotel itself it’s in a good location although has no parking or a lift which could be difficult for some people as there are a lot of stairs even to reach the reception.

Third stay at Victoria in Blairgowrie. I cannot sing its praises too much. Although a period hotel of great age it has stood the test of time and provides comfort, great position, lovely proprietors and in a stunnig area. Although no lift all rooms are on first floor. Breakfast is a great start to your day here so you will noit be disappointed. There are so many delightful places to visit, walks, golf courses, Blairgowrie is very well situated for transport and public transport. One can not ever regret their choice and will leave in peace and return to hectic lives.

The staff are amazing, warm, friendly, welcoming, everything you could ask. Amazing views, excelent experience can't wait to go back.

Nostalgic visit which we very much enjoyed. We enjoyed our stay and the view of the water and Winter Gardens was amazing. Our reception was very good. The breakfast was very good also.
