Couldn't have a shower as was scolding hot and no adjustment. Informed reception to be told tough. Lamp shades hanging off the wall. Black mould around bath handles and bath disgusting. Had to go buy own batteries to be able to use tv as reception wouldn't provide. Found out after that hotel is being used as half way house for drug and alcohol ******* and homeless despite not saying on there website only on confirmation from trip.com after paying for it and seeing its not refundable

Ideal location to an event we were attending at the Don Valley bowl. Both guys on reception very helpful. Parking onsite which was great. Allowed us to check in early as we needed to attend an event. Room was clean and smelt clean also. Decorating and furniture was dated, but this didn’t affect our stay. There was a constant noise, possibly in the pipes… but it was something we got used to. I would stay again as it was reasonably priced, considering hotels closer to our event was 5 times the price. Thank you 🙂

Very standard. Not far from meadow Hall. Alot of facilities not open and door boarded up on the outside. Was just there for the boxing so did not spend long in hotel. Is good if you need somewhere cheap to crash

This company as a hotel is illegally operating. The company is dissolved yet it’s still trading. RIP off cowboy owners. Please avoid. You can check them on Companies House - Mayfair Carlton Park Ltd Don’t pay bills and rip suppliers off. Please, please never trade with them

Very poor and dirty. Not a hotel it is a hostel. I Wouldn't advise solo women to stay here. I left within 5 minutes of arrival as I didn't feel comfortable. I feel the advert is misleading and not a true description of the property. Would not recommend

This is not a hotel and shouldn't be advertised as such. It is a homeless hostel. The reception is cold and uninviting. Mist doorways say staff only. No facilities As a lone female I did not feel safe to stay and left. Wish I had read the reviews prior to booking.

i read the reviews and one stated it needs updating . this person has obviously stayed in the guest wing of Buckingham palace .booked this hotel at the last minute . wasn’t really expecting much but i was pleasantly surprised . the reception area was bright and clean . my room wasn’t the most spacious i’ve stayed in but suited my needs . the bed was comfortable and shower was fine . there was also complimentary coffee and tea in the room

Shabby place.. perhaps going through a renovation but needs loads of work to get it up to a decent quality! The room stank of a musky smell, sink wouldn't drain.. bed was not comfy.. air fresheners everywhere which gave off a sickly smell and obviously covering up not wanted odour! Could be a much better place!!

Booked in did not realise it was under renovation, arrived they were booking a homeless family in , alarm bells ringing. No facilities at the hotel , room was up 4 flights of stairs, no lift operational . Smell in room , 2 flat pillows on bed , tea but no coffee. Checked the bed it was disgusting. OK so they are renovating fair enough, but has paying guest they hold inform you that , they take n homeless, there are no facilities at all . We are wating for a refund that stated they would do , let's see ??

The Carlton Park Hotel has definitely seen better days and is in much need of some TLC. The staff are very friendly and helpful but unfortunately the guests or possibly residents are somewhat diverse. Upon arrival in the afternoon there was a birthday celebration going on and there wasn't a sound to be heard but what a change when the early hours came and the noise wasn't from any of the party guests. Doors banging, shouting and someone either next door or above me snoring all night like an electric drill. Because of the party the bar wasn't open so a visit to the nearest Tesco Express not exactly what I was expecting as my past memories of the hotel were clouded. Free parking,clean bedding, a comfy bed, hot water and a soak in the bath helped but all in all I was very disappointed.
