Hotel Goldenes Fass in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

This is a lovely hotel to stay in a short distance from the walled city. It was easy to find even though the road was closed that day outside the hotel. Just a slight detour around the back streets and we came out across the road from it. The car park was easy to find as you turn down the road at the side of the hotel at the traffic lights and then it’s on your right. There is a back entrance into the hotel from there. The lovely lady on reception couldn’t apologies enough about the road works but it wasn’t her fault. Our room was on the first floor just at the top of the stairs, there is no lift here which we knew about in advance and packed a smaller bag for the night here so we wasn’t carrying the big suit cases up the stairs. The room was at the front of the hotel and was very clean. The bathroom was only small but it was fine. The aircon was good and we were given a remote for it on check in. There is an honesty bar down stairs which was well stocked but we didn’t use this. It only took us a few minutes to walk into the city but as it was getting late I made a dash to the Christmas shop before it closed at 6pm. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from and we were going to eat in a hotel where we have stayed before but before we got there we ended up in another hotel. So no problem finding somewhere to eat. The beds were comfortable and we both slept well. Breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from and good coffee. We have said we will visit here again and I’m sure we would book this hotel again.

Situated a 10 minute walk from a gate into the town this is an excellent place to stay while visiting Rothenburg. The Ladies who run it are very friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was very comfortable, quiet and well equipped. The breakfast is good and there is an Honesty System providing a range of drinks & snacks that can be taken out into the pleasant garden or to the lounge.

Hier passte alles - war bereits im Juni 23 gereist. Perfekt war der Parkplatz hinter dem Hotel, die Nähe zum Zentrum, die Betten!!! ein Traum, Zimmer und Bad prima, und am Abend die Möglichkeit, in Selbstbedienung sich noch ein Gläschen Wein auf der Terrasse zu gönnen. Highlight am Morgen: das Frühstück! Sehr gut

Zunächst das positive: sehr freundliche Personal, sehr gutes Frühstück, nahe der Altstadt, Parkplatz ( gegen Gebühr). Das Zimmer incl Bad ist einfach in die Jahre gekommen. Es roch sehr stark nach einem künstlichen Duft. Da stellt sich mir die Frage, ob da ein Geruch des Teppichs überlagert werden soll. Eine Renovierung wäre wünschenswert. Das Hotel liegt an einer sehr befahrenen Kreuzung.

Super lieve ontvangst, prachtige schone en comfortabele familiekamer, fijn ontbijt. Een super (en zeer betaalbaar) hotel voor een tussenstop of een bezoek aan het schattige stadje Rothenburg Ob der Tauber. De volgende keer kiezen we zeker weer dit fijne hotel.
