Art Hotel Kristal

Comfortable hotel, handy location for Bohinj lake. Breakfast choice was very good and evening meals which were part of our package were fine. Some rooms were much bigger with better views. Ours was quite tight with a tiny balcony and very limited room in the bathroom.

This hotel was quiet, conveniently close to the bus stop and out of the throng of day trippers which I imagine become overwhelming in summer. Staff were helpful but I suspect overworked which is a shame. Our room was spacious and well decorated but had construction flaws eg the bathroom door could not close all the way, we had to learn to use the shower carefully so as not to flood the bathroom floor, and we had to hook the curtains back on twice because they slid off the end of the hanging fixture. We were disappointed that the fee for a jacuzzi and sauna was 80 euros but on the other hand 70 euros for a one hour massage seemed reasonable and I had one - it was good. We found the restaurant ambiance lacking and the food too meat and fish oriented so only ate there once. Nevertheless in many ways it was a pleasant stay. We enjoyed our balcony

Magnificent food well cooked and well presented. Specially local game and fist. I ate there on three occasions and it a wonderful experience. The chef has a talent. I had Wild Boar , venison and duck. Washed down with lovely recommendations of red wines .Also always finishing off with schnaaps

Charming, clean, spacious, with great service, balconies and a sauna (which I didn't visit). The location was perfect for our Lake Bohinj and Lake Bled hiking. A few minutes walk to the former, and right by the bus stop to get to the latter. The restaurant had great breakfast variety and delicious dinners with excellent service. This all made for a very pleasant week's stay.

The hotel is nice and cosy and the owners and staff very friendly. The room, where we stayed was quite big an comfortable, with the view of the mountains. The hotel has a small wellnes with sauna, jacuzzy and rest area, which we used. The dinner was very good, there was also vegeterian option. Breakfast was also very nice with lots of options to choose from.
