A Peaceful Gem – Nama Retreat Nama Retreat is a truly special place, run by a warm and welcoming family and staff. If you’re looking for peace and quiet in a clean, well-maintained complex, you really can’t go wrong here. We stayed in one of the swim-up rooms, which was modern, spotless, and well-equipped for self-catering, with utensils, a microwave, fridge, and hob. Breakfast was a wonderful way to start the day. I enjoyed scrambled eggs and bacon, followed by a generous basket of fresh bread, ham, cheese, Greek salad, yoghurt, juice, and milk. There was also a daily surprise lovingly prepared by Jenny—anything from cake or fresh fruit to a traditional Greek treat. The pool area has plenty of sunbeds, especially as the shade gradually moves across the rooms. There’s also a bar open all day and into the evening, with very reasonable prices. Pastida itself is a small, quiet town with a well-stocked supermarket and around six restaurants that we found. Skalakia served delicious, traditional Greek food, and Gefira Taverna was quieter but equally good. Massa Grande, offering Italian and Mexican dishes, served pizzas so large we’d recommend going for the smaller size unless you’re sharing with a group! If I had to sum up Nama Retreat in just a few words, it would be: chilled, peaceful, beautiful—run by a truly lovely family who go out of their way to make your stay special. Andy and Julie
