We booked this hotel six months ago when it was marketed as a 5-star resort through Jet2, so it was disappointing to find it downgraded to 4-star just before our trip. Unfortunately, even 4 stars feels generous based on our experience. On arrival, the hotel does make a good first impression – the reception area is clean, modern, and gives off a ‘resort’ vibe. Sadly, this is where the five-star experience ended. We stayed in a Junior Suite with a swim-up pool. The room was fine – clean and functional, but very basic. There were none of the thoughtful touches you’d expect from a luxury resort. Our room was only serviced on five out of the seven days, and water wasn’t replenished daily. We received just two bottles on arrival for a family of four, which felt quite stingy. The outdoor area and private pool were only cleaned once during our entire stay, so we didn’t end up using it much. The communal pools were a decent size, but very poorly maintained. Empty cups and litter were left lying around, often blown across the area by the breeze. As a result, the poolside floor was frequently dirty, sticky, and slippery. The drinks were, frankly, awful. Everything was served in flimsy plastic cups – understandable during the day, but disappointing in the evening when you’re trying to relax. The drinks themselves were of poor quality, especially the pre-mixed cocktails from a machine, and the inconsistency in pours didn’t help either. Daytime entertainment was practically non-existent. While a couple of friendly staff wandered around to chat and were lovely, there were no organised activities, especially for children – which you’d expect at any all-inclusive, let alone a supposed 5-star resort. We were invited to take our 7 and 5-year-olds to the kids’ club, but when we arrived it was locked, with no staff in sight. It looked more like an empty room with a single plastic slide than a functioning kids’ club – a near miss for us, thankfully. Evening entertainment was also poor. We tried the so-called “kids’ disco”, which turned out to be someone playing music through a small speaker in the corner of the bar – needless to say, we didn’t stay. Other entertainment was lacking, again compared to other resorts we have stayed at. Food was passable but underwhelming – lukewarm at best and very repetitive. Some nights there were freshly prepared pizzas and pasta; other nights there weren’t. Credit where it is due however that when available, the pizzas were great. Poolside snacks were basic and again lukewarm, having been sat under heat lamps all day. A particularly odd omission was the lack of any ice cream or ice lollies for children – both at the snack bar and in the main restaurant, again in our experience a staple of an all inclusive resort, especially for children. The overall condition of the resort felt tired and poorly maintained. Gardens were unkempt, litter was left outside rooms for days, and construction work was taking place right next to the
