The Lawns Guest House

We were visiting family and The Lawns was just around the corner. Someone was there to show us the well equipped kitchens if we wanted to cook breakfast or any other meal. From the moment we arrived to when we left we were amazed at how everything was so clean, organised and such good value. Superb greeting on arrival, so helpful.

The welcome was outstanding, very helpful with support as my son is blind and autistic. The set up meant that we weren’t tied to meal times etc and that was perfect for our need to have flexibility. Super experience at the Lawns yesterday, Quasim a polite professional and caring host, parked our car for 16 days. Nice secure location and stayed overnight upon our return to UK. Clean comfortable room. Super fresh breakfast of poached eggs on toast and filter coffee. Plenty of other items for those who want cereal and fruit etc. most definitely stay again when flying from Gatwick which is 5 mins away. Thank you for looking after snowy 😊

Comfortable guest house. I had a large double room with en-suite. Then don’t serve breakfast but instead have fully equipped kitchens so you can cook your own. Good parking. Ideally situated for the town of Retford & beyond. Would thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful large room with lots of storage space, the shower was superb. Everything was exceptionally clean. Easy 10 minute walk into centre of town, plenty of supermarkets, shops and eating places. Pleasantly surprised to find a well appointed kitchen with use of fridge, washer, cooker, microwave, crockery and cutlery. Good sized table and chairs. Knowing this we will definitely return next year and make use of these amenities.

This was the fourth time that we've stayed at The Lawns, which should tell you all that you need to know. The room was, as always, clean and comfortable, and the dual kitchens on the ground floor provide the perfect meeting place at the end of a long evening. If you prefer a posh hotel, this is not for you, but as a comfortable and affordable guest house, it never disappoints.
