As per every hotel you stay at the eye is in the beholder. The staff were exceptional nothing was too much trouble ever so helpful which makes my stay most enjoyable. This hotel is primarily Spanish so generally quieter than an English based hotel but obviously culturally different ie they don’t queue and just different manners etc but we are all different. There is not much near to the hotel so all inclusive is advised we like it quiet so was good for us. Food was great rooms good pools great

In many ways this hotel was perfect for our stay. We wanted a relaxing poolside week with great food and some entertainment. The hotel is modern stylish and the pool areas were fantastic. There was always a test selection of food in the restaurant and as an all inclusive customer we had access to the extra snacks la available. The down sides. I booked a room with a double bed but when we got there it was 2 singles pushed together which kept coming apart during the night. Most of staff were friendly but my partner had dietary requests that he was told could not be catered for. Although directly behind him a Spanish customer was told that any requested they had were no problem. Had the feeling that if you were English you did not get the same service as the Spanish Was really looking forward to a few days at the beach but this was not possible due to the fact that there were no subbed and no parasols which in 38c heat was to me not possible. Overall loved the hotel facilities but some things like staff attitudes could be improved

Nice hotel staff very helpful and friendly, some public areas needed to be kept cleaner ( Ladies Toilet Ground floor) our room had a great view and was comfortable. Not much in the way of local bars or restaurants, what was open was low on choices.

Fantastic BED! Proper large. Modern room and clean. Check in was tedious for tired travellers as too long winded. Bar has zero ambience thought it could be more cosy and friendly. As usual in Spain staff can be a bit slow to react and help. Breakfast was absolutely gr8. Best fresh orange juice throughout our 14 night stay, one night in each Hotel every day! The lady doing the eggs 10/10 really tried to understand how I wanted my omelette and she did it beautifully! I will miss the fresh orange juice. We walked 800m down road to an ok restaurant 2nd on the right but others around can be better: settled at this as tired trippers!

This is a lovely hotel with excellent facilities. It is in a developing area with very little to do, so you tend to stay onsite. Food is plentiful with a very good selection at all meals but the hot dishes can be cool by the time you go to make your selection.

This hotel is definitely not 4*. It may have been 20 years ago but it is now very tired. Good points - beds were comfy, shower was hot, air-con worked well. Plenty of sun loungers. Bad points - we booked a superior room (this overlooked a car park - which had some dubious vehicles arriving in the early hours!) the sea was in the distance. The rooms were cleaned every day, but not to a particularly good standard. Same marks round wash basin for 12 days etc. When leaving the shower, the water leaked onto the floor which has rotted the bottom of the bath panel and the door frame. The food was the worst part of our stay. Always luke warm, weird combinations of food, gristly meat, not even an omelette station at breakfast! We went out to eat for the last 2 evenings as could not face the hotel restaurant again. It isn't made clear when you book AI that you have to pay for snacks either. There is only one bar in the evening. The staff are excellent. Reception helped us on a couple of occasions when we had problems with our room, the bar staff - especially Antonio and a colleague were very friendly and good to have a joke with. Valentina who was on the desk in the restaurant, always had a smile and greeted us cheerfully at every meal time and took time to speak to us. We had high expectations of a Barcelo Hotel but feel very disappointed. We will be coming back to the area a lot over the next year, but will not be staying here and would not recommend it.

I wouldn't stay in this hotel again, unless it has some major updates.... Overall the food was pretty awful, considering it's supposed to only be 1 star away from the very best of a 5 star.... Whoever nominated this a 4 star needs to change their job.
