"I stayed here with the purpose of visiting the Christmas market and champagne wineries in Reims. It's a little far from the city center, but there's a tram station very close by, so transportation is not a problem at all. There's also a supermarket right in front, so you can buy drinks like water cheaply. I arrived by car, and at first the gate was closed and I didn't know where to enter, but there was a pedestrian walkway right next to it, and I entered through there and the receptionist gave me the code to unlock the gate. The hotel itself is inexpensive and very affordable. The receptionist was very helpful despite my broken English. I had a very pleasant stay."

The glass to avoid splashing doesn't work, since it is far too small and the bathroom floor gets wet and one risks falling. In all not a bad hotel for the price charged."

"We were first hit as we alighted our coach with the most appalling smell from the bins which were situated only meters from the sleeping accommodation. It is a pity that I couldn't record the smell for you to appreciate just how bad it was. The rooms, and I use the term rooms very loosely would have been better described as garden sheds and only as big. On entry we were faced with what can only be described as a totally unacceptable abode for the night. On the walls were marks that looked like bodily fluids and a hole with some rough cementing around it. Needless to say I didn't examine the hole too closely in case something was in residence! Cobwebs complete with spiders adorned the place. We all sat around in the grounds before retiring as we wanted to spend as less a time as possible in the so called rooms. We decided that we would engage in some drinks from the bar. After only one pint they ran out of draught beer and it promptly shut at 2230 without warning. Surely they knew the coach was coming and they should have prepared better. Having being sat for around an hour we were joined by a couple of mice that continued to run around our feet, perhaps they appreciated the smell of the bins and saw them as a likely food source. Avoid if you can! If you can't stay at home. "

"Not the 'Best' hotel, like Fort Knox getting in .. need to check in on a computer outside the Hotel behind a locked gate, with a very old and temperamental keyboard. Then need a code to get in! Desk not manned . Breakfast was poor Bring a pillow. To be fair it was clean , and bed ok. But definitely a no frills hotel. If you don't mind a 15min drive go into the centre of town and have a nice meal on the promenade. "

"Check-in at Hôtel des Arcades was easy, and the staff were helpful, friendly and very welcoming, which made a good first impression. The room itself was fine, although it was warm. However, the bathroom was disappointing. Taking a shower felt a little like being in a caravan, with the curtain touching the toilet, and once the shower had been used the toilet area was wet. The door also did not close properly. Overall, the hotel could definitely do with some TLC. Given its location in such a great city, a few thoughtful touches, such as photographs or local artwork on the walls, would really help give the place more character and make it feel more connected to its surroundings."
