Hotel Riu Karamboa - All Inclusive - Adults Only

We are just on our return flight from Boa Vista and happy to report upon our amazing stay at the Riu Karamboa Hotel. After fifty years of international travel, we must say this is the best hotel we've ever stayed in on our usual holiday budget, we can't fault anything. The hotel is spotlessly clean and modern with all the possible facilities one requires for the holiday without being stung with 'extras' like some hotels. At least five bottles of water are provided in your room fridge daily, including a selection of soft drinks and spirits too. From the cleaners, gardeners, entertainment team, bar and reception staff are just such fun, attentive and friendly, everything just functions like clockwork. The food is amazing at every hour of the day, the variety is extensive and excellent quality, there are speciality restaurants, the best (in our subjective opinion) being the Kulinarum and the most disappointing, the 'Italian' restaurant. We experienced a few day trips arranged through our Tui rep and of them, although all excellent, the two hour quad bike experience was brilliant and highly recommended if you are reasonably fit and love being 'sandblasted'! We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

I was sceptical about visiting this hotel, but I have to say its fantastic! We are here now and everything is spot on. The staff can't do enough for you and there are load ofvthem attending every need. Food is plentiful good, we have eaten in the buffet and two of several restaurants, the Kulinarium food is first class restaurant food. There are plenty of sunbeds, and the newly refurbished rooms are excellent and well stocked with drinks. The place us spotlessly clean and well equipped. There is daily entertainment ground the site and the animation teams are a joy. The beach is beautiful and sea a great shade of turquoise ( a little rough though) The only surprise we had was the size of the hotel its vast! We will definitely be back in fact will book for later in the year.

The hotel is spotlessly clean. The staff work endlessly to make your stay amazing. There are always plenty of Sun loungers, whatever the time of the day, The gardens are immaculate, just as the rest of the hotel. The food is amazing with plenty of vegetarian options. Comfortable beds and big rooms. There really is nothing that’s not to love. Everybody is so friendly.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it! Rooms: Spotlessly clean and well maintained, with housekeeping doing a great job every day and towel art on the bed!. The minibar was restocked every two days, which was a nice added touch. Restaurants: The staff were attentive and friendly throughout. There was a fantastic variety of food available, and everything we tried was delicious. Waitress Jeveny always had a smile for us! Gardens - immaculate and the gardeners worked very hard to keep everything spotless Reception: The reception team were always helpful and welcoming, making everything easy from check-in, booking taxis to departure. Entertainment: The entertainment team really made our stay extra special. They were fun, engaging, and put on great shows and activities — we especially enjoyed the games and exercise classes. A special mention to Tiago Pedro, Mikey, Kevin, Samuel, Amilton, and Darlene, who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Overall, a wonderful holiday — we would definitely return!

We visited in June 2026, and this has not been the relaxing 5* experience you’d expect from a 5* rated all inclusive hotel. Positives: The hotel is kept very clean, and there is always staff around who are very helpful and attentive. They deserve far more for the work they do! The entertainment team work so hard and put in a lot of effort and energy into the activities and evening shows. The pool areas are very clean and lots of sunbeds. The party nights are well organised and good fun, the free face painting is a lovely touch. Negatives: It is loud! Forget having a siesta, the maintenance and house keeping staff are very loud, talking on their phones, playing music and shouting to each other and for some reason this always at about 4-6pm. You can hear doors banging from the corridors, people talking and the walls are not particularly thick so if you find yourself under or next to guests that are inconsiderate you will hear them. Also recommend noise cancelling headphones for by the pool as other guests are often playing videos out loud, listening to music or FaceTiming with no consideration for anyone else. The main buffet is constantly very busy so be prepared to be walked into and pushed in front of. The food is not great, it’s alright with some good bits but otherwise it’s nothing special. It all feels abit “brits abroad” and is very much a holiday for those who like to have a drink up, which if that is what you’re looking it is a great choice for you. But if you’re looking for a relaxing quiet luxury experience I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

This was our 5th time at Karamboa and I really enjoyed it. The staff are so nice and helpful. Room was spacious and cleaned every day. Only downside of the cleaners is that they are so noisy in the morning and me and the lubby are not morning people. Tried to get the lubby a Riu hat but unfortunately couldn’t get one. We are back next year so will try again. Met up with Ilda, Kevin and Sabina again and they always remember us, what we like and put drinks on our table. The food is ok but sometimes cold. Tried to get the tv fixed but unfortunately this didn’t happen even though the Tui rep got involved. I feel safe at this hotel and wander round on my mobility scooter. We will definitely be back. Fantastic place really enjoyed our stay here. Extremely easy airport experience getting to the hotel took less than 20 minutes and the whole checking in experience was a breeze: Beautiful staff, wonderful room the beds where comfortable and the minibar is always stocked! So easy to request more drinks for your minibar on the app: The food was great we had no issues during our stay. Only recommendations would be to take a high UV sun cream as you burn through the clouds! It is really a beautiful experience highly recommended to try it here. Take something for the neon night and the white party- they were the highlight of our stay, but we forgot to pack anything for both … we would go all out for the next time! Enjoy 🤙🏼

An exceptionally well‑maintained hotel offering a high standard of comfort and service. The hotel is immaculate throughout, and the overall upkeep is excellent. Guest rooms are clean, comfortable, and consistently well serviced. The mini‑fridge and in‑room optics are replenished every two days, with the option to request additional soft drinks or water through the RIU App. With four pools available, there is no shortage of sunbeds. While they begin to fill from around 9:30–10:00am, I never experienced difficulty finding space. Both the pool areas and the beach are maintained to a very high standard. The entertainment programme is impressive, offering a variety of engaging activities and evening performances. Although the area can be windy, temperatures remain very high, so adequate sun protection — ideally factor 30 or 50 — is essential. Dining options are excellent, with a wide selection available at the buffet. Taking time to explore the stations ensures you find something to suit every preference. Three à la carte restaurants can be booked via the app; availability is limited, so checking early in the morning or later at night is advisable. Regular use of the provided hand sanitiser is recommended to help maintain guest wellbeing. Bringing an insulated cup, such as a Stanley, is useful for keeping drinks cool throughout the day. Despite the size of the resort, staff work exceptionally hard to maintain cleanliness and deliver a consistently positive guest experience. Venturing outside the hotel offers a humbling reminder that the country faces economic challenges, yet I found the local area to be safe and welcoming. .
