Riu Palace Boavista - All Inclusive

Reception was fantastic we were greeted and upgraded to a pool villa fantastic start. Pool villa was fantastic it gives you a choice to be alone, and they are well set up. The pools and bars are all superb. The theatre was good. The food was amazing, both buffet and speciality. The staff are all friendly and cannot do enough. It is our favourite Riu alongside riu palace aruba. Well done and thank you to Riu Palace Boa Vista.

RIU Palace Boavista has been one of the best hotels we have stayed at! The staff were very friendly, they couldnt do enough for us - this really made our stay at the hotel! Clean rooms with a comfy bed, fab entertainment with themed nights, good food options - we have really loved every minute of our stay here! Thank you to all of the staff at Palace Boavista!

Difficult to review. First time we have done an all inclusive. We were so bored for most of our trip. Sitting by a pool and little else was not for us. So I'm basing the review on our honest opinion. The hotel and grounds are spotless and beautifully maintained. The staff with one or two exceptions are an absolute credit to the hotel and really make this place. The rooms are really nice and the showers are amazing. Swim up rooms look great although for us if you want privacy why would you not l rent a villa elsewhere for far less money. The food. On first impressions looks great but after a few days became very samey. Even with such a large selection. The desserts all looked great but mostly tasted the same. The cheese selection, fruit and salads were exceptional. The drink selection was not always branded. And generally a little generic. Prosecco, lager and basic spirits but a little uninspiring. The cocktails were very poor. The entertainment had moments when it was great but mostly very Butlins like. Although the entertainment staff are incredibly hard working and make a first class effort. Entertainment could have finished a little later. The pools are nice and there is never a shortage of sunbeds if that's your thing. The beach is beautiful but a lot of rocks under the surface. You need to turn right and walk 10 mins to the beach bar for a better beach and better cocktails. The island is beautiful but very little to do. Turtle watching is a must. If you like sitting on a sunbed. Drinking ok drinks and eating in an all you can eat buffet then this place is top draw. If however you like a bit of adventure then there must be far better ways to see cape verde than an all inclusive. Wake up people be more adventurous.

Had a fantastic Xmas holiday- the staff were always helpful and happy - had big smiles and sooo polite. The service and variety of food and drinks was unbelievable - definitely something for everyone. The swim up room was another plus enabled us to sunbathe by our pool in the afternoon. The Xmas entertainment was perfect too - almost forgot the weather-beautiful and hot!

We spent Christmas at the Riu Palace Boa Vista with our family, a wonderful time was had by all of us. Everyone was very friendly, very helpful and everywhere was lovely and clean. The only criticism I have is the Gala dinner on Christmas night, I have a mobility scooter and normally can get about to look at the buffet, although there were some intolerant people that didn’t seem happy I was there looking if I got in their way. The night of the dinner there was no way I could even get to the counters, it was like people thought they wouldn’t be eating again. I had to rely on my family to get some food and they are able bodied but found it difficult. We had the earlier sitting because of the grandchildren, perhaps the later sitting wasn’t so busy. Perhaps the queuing system for the Gala dinner needs to be looked at. First class for everything else

We arrived as a family of 8 on the 23rd Christmas to celebrate a 50th birthday and Christmas and were not disappointed. Transfer from the small airport is 5 mins and check in was really smooth; no queueing and a drink on arrival. We had a combination of rooms: 1 room with a pool, one double room and a 2 bedroomed family room. All the rooms were very clean, spacious and quiet. The hotel is really spacious, clean and very well maintained. All the staff are polite, helpful and knowledgable. There is even an onsite doctor, which we needed as one member of our party needed antibiotics and an appointment was made within an hour of us making an enquiry. The pool areas are great and right on the beautiful clean beach. The food is very varied and caters for all needs. Plenty of fresh fruit, salads, meats, pastas and desserts. We have a wonderful holiday and the hotel made a special effort for the 50th birthday celebration. Tips: There are 3 speciality restaurants and these need to be booked via the app or at the reception desk. Men are required to wear these to enter all three so this is well worth knowing in advance. The quad biking excursion is also well worth doing and those in our party that did it said it was a highlight. We will be back as we had a great holiday.
