Hotel Villa Margherita

Booked for one night, added a 2nd after checking in. From the greeting to an offer to let us select our room, the bedding (BEST bed, bedding in Italy, lovely WC) the elegance throughout & wonderful staff, cannot praise this hotel enough. Greeted with warmth as though we'd stayed a dozen times before, the staff was always smiling, saying hello. Especially want to note the owner's easy way, the young man who served at lunch but especially Elizabetta! All these things make a difference to one's experience. We were seeking a few days of quiet in a beautiful location after weeks of travel in cities across Europe. Nothing could have been better. The comfort of the room, the pleasantness of the hotel, the beautiful surroundings - a stab in the dark that really paid off! We had lunch at their restaurant, not knowing what to expect: first rate. Shared an appetizer, two mains, one side dish, shared a dessert, bottle of wine. With views out to the water and a beautiful dining room - it was a very romantic meal! As we visited in December the pool was not heated, but they keep it sparkling clean so you still enjoy the beauty of the exterior. The hotel has ample parking for those driving but is also just a 5 minute walk from the train. While I recommend their restaurant, there are also a dozen restaurants, as well as gelateries & a bar in walking distance. We walked to the beach (easy, safe) and marina, around the cove and up on the top side of the town. Really pretty little community.

Amazing hotel. Friendly staff, great breakfast, lovely pool. Stunning views, incredible value. We had a 2 week trip round Italy and this was the nicest place we stayed, including some hotels that were 2 or 3 times more expensive.

We were looking for a place midway between La Spezia and Siena on the Mediterranean coast. So we chose this place. The location says Livorno, but it would certainly be more on the outskirts. Found the address, went down a long driveway. Wife says, " it's too nice, it can't be the place. So we go back to street and call. IT WAS THE RIGHT PLACE! We loved this place. The map looks like it's blocks from the water. Wrong. The property goes right to the water. The staff was friendly and helpful. Treated us like family or close friends. The grounds are gorgeous. We were sorry we only booked one night. The view was fabulous. The price was great too.

Firstly what a beautiful place the hotel is situated in, amazing view, awesome walks especially in the evening when it's cooler. Hotel itself is extremely expensive for what you get. The grounds are great but once you are inside its a very basic, glorified bed and breakfast and in no justifies hundreds of euros per night. The hotel prioritises wedding parties ahead of staying guests. Our two nights were ruined by loud shouting drunk behaviour until 3am - I ended up sitting in the lounge at 2am as it was quite than our room. Tried to raise this but staff were not interested. Also could not use grounds in tge evening as its taken over by wedding guests most of which fo not stay at tge hotel. The outdoor pools are awful, not clean cigarette butt's everywhere. Restaurant staff dreadfully rude. I raised query regarding our food and the waitress then raised this with the manager in front of other guests. Dreadful. Just avoid this place, this is basically a night club, and you won't get any sleep, price is outrageous. Staff dreadful.

Bellissima la locazione e potenzialità straordinarie ma... Nessuno alla reception quando siamo arrivati. Vaso di fiori appassito con acqua patria e maleodorante alla reception.In camera lavandino del bagno tutto scheggiato e pomello acqua calda fredda rotto, solo fredda. Vetro doccia imbrattato e polvere. La mattina alle 7:45 scesi per colazione, abbiamo vagato per 15 minuti prima che venisse qualcuno.

Dopo tanti anni siamo tornati a soggiornare in questa nella villa che nel frattempo è stata ristrutturata. Bellissima camera con balcone vista mare, piscine bellissime con tante sdraio, gazebo... bravi! Discesa diretta sul mare, unica!
