The facilities were comfortable, and most of the staff were professional and welcoming. However, we encountered two concerning issues that I feel compelled to share. Firstly, during a shower, my father was almost burned due to a water temperature malfunction. The hot water did not come for a long time, and when he turned the tap fully to hot, it locked in place and could not be turned off. The hotel promptly sent a plumber to fix the issue and kindly offered us a complimentary breakfast, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the second issue deeply impacted our experience. During breakfast on our second morning, we were served by a staff member named Isabella. Her behavior was blatantly discriminatory. Although I attempted to engage with her, she refused to acknowledge me, instead directing all her attention to my father, a white middle-aged man. She refilled his coffee but ignored me entirely, despite us both finishing at the same time. When I requested the bill, she acted as if she did not understand me and again responded only when my father spoke. This experience was extremely unpleasant and disappointing, especially given the otherwise positive stay. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and provides training to ensure all guests are treated with equal respect, regardless of their background.

I’ve been wanting to visit since watching the Korean drama Goblin! What a gem, beautiful place with historic elements. Room is slightly on the smaller side. What I love most is the free activities that came with it. We did the ferry tour to Levis and riedel wine tasting! A wonderful experience!

We upgraded the room,when we checked in, which has 2 queen sized beds with sofa bed and living room space. so beautiful and comfortable. Amazing view of quebec city. Excellent location and beautiful historic building with great services. Pricy but worthy. Will be back again.

Staff keep selling upgraded room for additional charges

The breakfast was not worth almost $40 person. The parking lot are very small and scary at night. I don’t really feel safe—there was nobody in the area at all. If park on the higher floor, there is no elevator from the 10th up. Better load the luggages before parking.

Beautiful hotel and room. The location is good in old Quebec but to get to other locations requires a walk down and up the steep hill. Amenities such as the gym is quite basic but does the job.

I was worried that the room was small and wanted to stay for one day, but it turned out to be quite big so I stayed for two nights. However, the only drawback was that the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night on the second day, and everyone ran out. It was a little bit of an episode. The hotel is old, the room is small and scratched, the corners are not clean. I called once and the staff said I can’t do anything. Then I complained to the hotel front desk and they were willing to compensate for breakfast for two people and two slide tickets. The front desk attitude was not bad. But the price was too expensive and the view outside was not good.

The overall cost performance is not high. The Chateau Hotel is indeed a must-see in Quebec City and is very close to nearby attractions, but it is really not a must-stay hotel. The room is not large, and the overall experience of staying here is that the heater fan installed on the windowsill is the most unbearable. For a room fee of several thousand dollars, the only "five-star luxury service" that can be felt is that the heater fan is as loud as a tractor. I wanted to ask for a room change, but the other room I booked was in the same situation, so I didn't bother.
