This is a very well-appointed and comfortable hotel located within the old town walls of Shanhaiguan, 50 yards or so from the east gate. It is built and decorated in the traditional style of the area. Large, comfortable beds, the a/c unit warms the room. A filling and varied breakfast is delivered to the room in the morning. The staff are cheerful and pleasant. The hotel boasts a restaurant in a separate building which serves a wide selection of delicious food. Private dining rooms are available. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would be very happy to return.

Location is fantastic inside the old walled city and only 50m to the entrance of 天下第一关。
It's a very modern hotel on the inside and traditional on the outside. Excellent beautiful rooms and comfortable bedding.They do offer onsite meals and the food is excellent.
The staff are also very polite and they opened the doors as we stepped into the main hall everytime and they were also very attentive as when we could not find the kettle in the room as we asked on our way out, the staff male sure they walked us to our room as we returned and showed us where was the kettle hidden.
Such level of service in a small town puts many 5 or 6 stars hotel to shame.

I have had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I had a large, well-furnished, elegant room. I tried to upload a photo but was not successful despite it having less than 1 MB.
The hotel staff was helpful with the bus route to the Old Dragon Head, a must-see if you are in Shanhaiguan. Additionally, they were friendly, offering me fresh fruits.
I will return to this hotel if my future travel does take me to Shanhaiguan.

First, I wold like to thank the staff for their excellent service, in particular, I would like the management to recognize 我的名字是Meijiaxue for her help. Staff speak minimal English but worked very hard to understand us and give us extra care. I would recommend that the hotel have a wechat account available for foriegners to contact the front desk for easy translation. 我的名字是Meijiaxue connected with us this way, via our request. She went out of her way to help book us a car, order food and buy products.
The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The rooms are stunning and feel very high end, luxury. The building is new and well maintained. Shampoo, soap and conditioner is a lovely lavendar and mint, natural product.
Upon arrival you are given tickets for on site alpaca feeding and DIY drawing activity. We only did the alpaca feeding which only took 5 minutes but was immensely fun.
Breakfast buffet was well done and more than enough food for only 24 rooms, primarily chinese food but some western dishes.
Location was the only downfall. I thought being only 15 minutes from downtown and the beach would be no problem for a taxi. However, it was almost immposible to get a taxi or Didi. There is nothing else in the area so there are no cars in the area. One night we wanted to go to dinner and waited an hour trying to get a car, before eventually giving up. The staff then helped us to order in food instead. If you are able to get a car, its only around 20rmb to DT, when we were able to get a car.
Overall, I would absolutely visit again and recommend, Ideally with a car.

GGuest UserWhat a lovely gem of a hotel! I was reluctantly (very reluctantly) persuaded to leave Beijing for the weekend and head for the nesrest beach - Qinhuangdao.
The Bullet Train was great fun - we splashed out on first-class tickets and had the first-class cabin all to ourselves. Qinhuangdao was a welcome change of pace from the self-important hussle of Beijing.
The bad things first - the weather was terrible and the beach itself is more 1970s Blackpool than present-day Antibes.
But the Hampton by Hilton was a delightful surprise. The staff are absolutely delightful. Although they don’t speak English, the use of a few translation apps soon explained to them what we needed and they always did their best to look after us.
The rooms are great - we even got a free upgrade to a suite. The breakfast options are many and varied. We were the only Western guests that weekend and the other guests seemed to be Chinese middle-class families. If I had to guess I would say they tended to be from other parts of China as they didn’t seem to be the usual rude impatient Beijingers. It was lovely to see Al the little children having fun with their parents.
So, our thanks to the ladies at Reception, the young concierge guys, the housekeepers and the busy breakfast staff. The owners of the this hotel is blessed with great staff. Thank you all so much for looking after us so well.

GGabi NettoJ had a lovely stay at the Argyle resort and the fact that you just need to cross the parking lot to get to the Dongshan Bathing Spot is definitely amazing! There are some tourist attractions close by, but very far from historical sites.
The room was ok, but it looked different from the pictures. Probably a bit of mold on the wall or water damage, dirty windows, and a piece of the wardrobe door was broken. Not what I would expect at a resort.
The breakfast had so many options, but very few western choices, limited to sliced bread, butter and jam, yogurt, fruits and coffee. The coffee machine always had an issue, but the staff quickly came to fix it. During my stay there, everyday someone complained about the coffee maker.
One of the things that I found really nice is that every day they would bring or leave fruit in my room. But on the last day, I was sleeping, and someone came in. She did apologize, but it was weird having someone in your room while you’re there.
In terms of amenities, they have everything really! From shower cap to razors. And the blow dryer was really good!
Because it was golden week, the staff was overwhelmed with work (lots of guests and weddings) and they didn’t talk about the facilities - gym, pool, hot springs.

The hotel and outdoor facilities convince by a great design and are top maintained. Absolut top Position directly at the wide and clean sandy beach. An absolute highlight is the pool on the roof with a beautiful view of the beach and the sea. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy your stay. The indoor pool area is als very nice.
Our room with large balcony and view of the beach was very clean and spacious. In the outdoor area is a large shallow children’s pool. Nice corners and seating areas invite you to linger. The beach directly in front of the hotel is particularly suitable for families with children. The Hotel also has a children area.
The breakfast buffet offers a large selection of delicious Chinese and Western dishes.
We enjoyed our stay from the first to the last minute!

FFelix MakOgandoWe very much enjoyed our stay . Staff were very welcoming, kind and helpful. Very convenient location, a stone throw away from the beach. A mall is about 10 minutes away in a taxi.
The only aspect we feel needs to improve is the breakfast. The menu was always the same which made a longer stay experience a bit boring, not always looking forward to dining. Perhaps changing a few items in the menu every morning will make that exceptional experience. Otherwise, an amazing hotel-keep it up!

GGuest UserThe hotel is very close to the beach, and it takes only 3 minutes to walk to Jinmeng Bay Beach. I have never paid attention to this beach before. It has golden fine sand and is well protected with almost no stones. There are not so many tourists and it is very new.
The hotel is next to Shangri-La Hotel and very close. The 25-square-meter room I booked was upgraded to a 50-square-meter room during the National Day holiday, which exceeded my expectations. The room is very large, well decorated, and clean. The indoor dining table is very practical. I recommend staying in a twin room, which feels simpler and more reasonable than a large bed. In short, it is very spacious.
The front desk service and room service are very thoughtful and responsive.
There is a restaurant downstairs in the hotel. Although it comes with two breakfasts, the front desk girl gave children breakfast coupons, which is very considerate.
Although this trip to Qinhuangdao was only four days, I went sea fishing twice, once for octopus and once for small herring. Each time I got a lot of harvest and it was interesting.

GGuest UserI recently stayed in room 3129 at this hotel and overall, I had a good experience. The location is excellent as it sits right in front of the beach. The hotel also has a hot spring which is a nice addition, although some areas were not functioning properly due to being broken.
The reception staff was very attentive and friendly, particularly one male employee. However, it seemed that the female staff members were not as willing to work.
I highly recommend trying the massage services offered at the hotel. I had a neck and back massage which left me satisfied.
The breakfast buffet was decent and the dining room supervisor and the reception staff at the buffet were friendly and hardworking. Most of the cooks and servers provided good service.
I would also recommend paying for the dinner buffet as it offers a wide variety of seafood. The only downside was a young grill cook who lacked proper manners when I asked a question about the food. He responded lazily and rudely. Additionally, there was a young waitress with a tattoo on her leg who seemed uninterested in working. While the rest of her colleagues were cleaning and setting up tables, she would simply join them and sit down or play with her mobile phone.
In terms of the room, the cleanliness was below the minimum standard. It was quite neglected, as they only mopped the floor and it still wasn't clean. There were hairs from previous guests throughout the room. The private hot spring in the room could also use some improvement.

RRichterA true 5 Star experience. The room is top notch with a large window overlooking the sea. Service is outstanding in all categories. Breakfast is full and rich. The hotel dinner buffet is so extraordinary that I say you must try it at least once! We were amazed at the variety of dishes and the quality. Hotel location is perfect. Just a few minutes walk and you can have your feet in the sand or water. The Qinhuang Alley Food Street is also within walking distance or very short cab ride. This food street is very lively and fun to visit especially in the evening. Two other recommendations for things to do are Lao Long Tou (Old Dragon Head) which you can get to by cab. And if you are a fan of the Olympics you really should visit Olympic Avenue Park. Amazing relief sculpture wall over 300 meters long portraying Olympic history. Must be seen to be believed. Thank you to all the friendly and professional staff and chefs at Grand Hotel Qinhuang for making our 4 night stay so enjoyable. Qinhuangdao is a wonderful city with so many different things to do and experience we hope we can return again.

CCandiceyuequqiIt was a good decision to stay at Senzeyuan. I read a lot of guides and they all said that hot spring hotels are too crowded, too humid, and too noisy. In fact, it is true. My child's eyes were inflamed, so I ordered eye drops to be delivered. The shuttle bus brought them to the front desk of the hotel. The service was very considerate, and they also gave me souvenirs before I left. To be honest, the beach experience was crowded and dirty. The water quality was not very good, and there were jellyfish everywhere. I was stung several times. But overall, it was a very happy family trip.

MMinixiaowotouWe stayed for two days in the off-season. There were fewer people in the off-season, but many facilities were not open. We also had to change rooms because of the water outage. Our housekeeper Xiao He explained patiently and provided warm and thoughtful service. He asked about our experience of the stay throughout the whole process. I give full marks for the service.
