Good stay. Could be cleaner. Average service. Short of staff during our stay. Beautiful view of the sunset from the water front deck. No tea / coffee in the room. Badly missed it. Unique experience with outdoor bath rooms. Creatively designed rooms.

What a chilled and great spot to start our holiday. The pool is really clean and there is a good jetty directly onto the lagoon to watch the sun set. We didn’t kite surf as that was not the purpose of our visit, but the wind would have been perfect for it! The Bar and restaurant were good with tasty home cooked Sri Lankan food and juices. The rooms were clean with good AC and the shower was hot. Agash,Sajid and their team were extremely helpful and engaged with us. They took us to get a fishing rod and were generally extremely helpful. They also gave us good local recommendations and played cricket with our boys. The grounds are beautiful as well! Come here, relax, kite surf and enjoy your stay in a relaxed beautiful environment!

Valampuri Kite Resort in Kalpitiya is an absolute gem! The location is stunning, right by the beach with beautiful views of the ocean. The resort itself is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests have a great stay. I highly recommend this place for its delectable and nutritious food, extensive menus, and the welcoming, accommodating team. The instructors are consistently available for additional support and guidance. The kiting spots offer diverse and breathtaking experiences, catering to both flat water and wave riding enthusiasts. For those not into kiting, there’s a plethora of activities to indulge in: kayaking, slack line , yoga, pool relaxation, barbecues. This place has become our second home; the reason we keep returning. Our children relish the freedom to explore the camp, engage with the staff, and spend endless hours at the pool. It’s a haven we cherish.

During our two-night stay with our family, we secured all available rooms with a full-board package at an astonishingly reasonable rate. The hotel’s ambiance and culinary offerings were nothing short of exceptional. We all found ourselves wishing for more time at Valampuri, yearning to return soon and immerse ourselves once again in the serenity of this exquisite establishment and the surrounding village. The decor is a masterpiece, combining minimalism with every conceivable luxury. It effortlessly balances playfulness with style, and tastefulness with trendiness, all while maintaining perfect harmony with nature. The staff exhibited remarkable friendliness, efficiency, and a dedication to exceeding our expectations, ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible. Due to the incredible reviews, my family of about 40+ people went to this resort for an overnight stay. It should suffice to say that it was the worst place I've ever stayed at. The washrooms had no drainage so some rooms had a mini pool on the floor of their bathrooms. It was unaccessible. The comods were broken and leaking and many rooms didn't have a proper lock/key. The staff was rude and the rooms weren't even ready 2 hours after our check in time. We were waiting in the hot sun without a room, this includes little children and babies.

I planned to spend one week here, but ended up staying for two. The atmosphere is great and the staff is so friendly. The pool is a really nice feature and there are always the most incredible sunsets. There are lots of great birds here that can be spotted from inside the resort and also from kayaking around the lagoon. The food here is also sooo good (especially if you love seafood/ want traditional Sri Lankan food)! I highly recommend staying here next time you are in Sri Lanka :)

I had a great experience at Valampuri Resort. I felt at home, all staff are very friendly and always willing to help. There are several activities such as kayaking, slackline, stand up paddle or kitesurfing (the most famous). All the traditional Sinhalese food that I tasted in the hotel restaurant were delicious. The place is very beautiful and the pool has an ideal temperature and the sunset from there is incredible.
