The service of this hotel was terrible. Staff was not friendly at all and not helpful. Restaurants did not have a good variety and food was not great. We've been to many other all inclusive resorts in Dominican Republic. This one was the worst in terms of service and restaurant quality. MANY rude Europeans here, and they like to stare at you when you eat. Rooms were new and clean, and we liked the beach. Food and service did not meet expectations. Do NOT recommend.

Could not check in until 5 pm the day we landed. It was such an inconvenience due to you guys not paying the property. Such a bad experience.

I had problem check in . They could not find my reservation. They had to charge me for the rate of the night and to wait until tomorrow when the manager here so they can refund me , but other than that everything was great

Overall experience was good, and would return again. The only unfortunate part that there was a lot seaweed on the beach in which you could not enjoy.

Stayed at Catalonia Beach Resort Bavaro. PROS: - Staff was mostly very friendly. Especially Chabely at front desk and Ronston (Dimitry) who organizes some tours - Rooms were pretty well equipped (stayed in privilege side which was renovated) - Food was very good with tons of options. Really enjoyed Steak place and Pizza place by the pool - Buffet at the pool is a very nice atmosphere. Love that they use nets so no birds at your tables. This was an issue at our last resort - Klub Dive is amazing. My husband did 3 dives (incl one shark dive). Thoroughly enjoyed it - Sailing and Kayaking was fun and free to borrow - Glass Bottom Snorkeling trip was fun and a nice break from the resort - Grounds are stunning. Lots of trees. - Lots of covered seating at the beach CONS: - Checkin was rough. - requests made for 2 queen beds were not adhered to. - Had to move rooms twice which was awful. - Certain staff at checkin were pretty rude.

We cannot recommend Catalonia to anyone. The first morning of our trip, we were awoken to a phone call requesting our presence for a welcome breakfast. IT WAS NOT. It was a MULTI-HOUR “presentation” for their travelers program. If we had known, we would have declined. We felt that was very deceiving. The Pearl Beach Club was very loud into the late hours. This isn’t normally an issue for us but we lost hours of sleep because we could hear and feel the music in our room with doors and shades closed. The property, itself, was clean and well kept. The service was less than average. Friendly or helpful staff was hard to find. The shopping center and the restaurants need to be open more often. They were closed for hours at a time which caused a lot of disruption to our trip, as we weren’t able to eat when hungry and had to conform to whatever hours the restaurants were open. Even when the stores were posted to be open, the staff had the doors locked and we weren’t able to pick up items we needed, for hours! Our original room had issues with leaking water and it took multiple phone calls and requests to fix it before they eventually put us in a new room. The 2nd room was nice. There was no hot water our entire stay so it was cold showers for our entire trip, which wasn’t pleasant. Overall, we were not impressed and will choose somewhere else to stay for any future visits to Punta Cana.

It was our second time in the DR and first and last at this hotel It’s a nice area, nice grounds but looking ow there are more reviews regarding the clogging in showers and bad smell. We woke up at 2am with the worst smell, three times we asked for someone to help, other rooms and guests had same problems And sent someone to “fix” and nothing changed The first time offered to switch rooms and also, no answers Last 2 days they didn’t left towels or water after the room was clean Floors were never clean in our bedroom/bathroom and public bathrooms were always dirty too They only care at the check in so you can buy their “vacation plan” the moment you say no, they couldn’t care less A few of the staff definitely needs more training in how to work in this business but others were great. Big disappointment, will definitely never come back to his hotel!

The beach was beautiful and calm. The ducks near the pizza place need to go. The buffet by the lobby was better than the buffet by the beach. The food was very good, can’t complain. They had good entertainment and nice little ******. The steak house was the best restaurant in that hotel. It was so good I had to go twice lol but overall it was a good experience. 4/5

We were in the "privileged" suite and had water leakage in our room and the staff couldn't fix it for 2 days. They'd send someone who would just drain out the excess water at the AC unit and it'd start to leak again in minutes. They didnt provide another room even after multiple complaints. The buffet was below average and service is slow. We had to wait long before someone brought us water or coffee. The grounds are kept clean and the evening time entertainment is decent.

Property was nice and family oriented.Clean,good food and entertainment every night.However the staff from the front desk very rude and unprofessional including the front desk manager.We requested someone from the management and were denied. We got a privileged room that was very dirty ..The second one was better but still not clean..Will definitely not return to this resort.

The grounds of the resort are beautiful. Aesthetic lobby. Nice beach. Plenty of lounge chairs throughout. Food is worse than similar resorts. Restaurants need updating and do not look nice or cool. Spa is kind of dirty and unkept. At buffet, typically didn’t get water/drink service. Buffet service was unattended. This was our first time at a punta cana resort and could only compare it to mexico. The drinks at resorts are always low alcohol, but this resort we actually questioned if there alcohol was really alcohol. I usually can only drink 1-2 drinks at home, and 2-3 at a resort for a similar buzz. This resort - I never felt alcohol but the drinks did not make me feel good. Felt a little sick. Overall, would probably not return or recommend and prefer Mexico.

what i dont like the uncleanness of the bathroom. the rooms need to be clean and bleach thouroguhly . i do think i need to get a full refund of my money because the apartments are really dirty and very unclean . i did a uv test of the bathroom and found out how unleanly the area is. i think they can do a much better

Great staff, great food and great beach we did the privileged romance room. Room service was always delivered within 30 minutes and they called to verify it was delivered. Very little seagrass, beaches very well kept and the property is lush and beautiful.. privileged rooms are all updated very modern and clean
