La Prometida

Nice hotel, friendly staff Nice hotel with good breakfast. The staff was friendly. Good parking possibilities. The only negative was that they did not serve any food (except breakfast) and that the roof made a lot of noise when it was raining (there are some kind of plastic protection on the roof of the room which make the rain sound a lot, hard to sleep without earplugs).

Great place, even better people The room was great, the breakfast was great, the massage was one of the best my wife has ever had, and the location was perfect. But what really made it special were the hosts. They were welcoming and caring, and were there every morning to see how we were doing and to give recommendations on what to do or where to go. For my wife's birthday, they left card, flowers, balloons, and even a rum and coke kit in our room. The facilities are beautiful, but they made it exceptional.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Such a cute, pretty little place with every little thing really thought into by the owners Francisco and Andrea. We felt like we were in a little oasis and the service was also second to none, with all the services one would one expect from a 5star hotel plus the extra personal touch which made it extra special. Selva was also great at providing us with recommendations and super sweet serving us yummy breakfast every morning. Thank you for a fab few days, was the best way to end our amazing holiday in Costa Rica ❤️

This was hands down the most amazing experience I have ever had at a hotel! We arrived late the first night around 9pm, and we were promptly greeted by Francisco with a glass of wine and a cool lemongrass scented towel. That was a very nice touch, especially after the long ride there. We brought some fresh pipas (which we learned the name for from the host 😄) with us that we got from one of our taxi drivers along the way. Francisco took our luggage to our room for us and even offered to prepare the delicious pipas for us! Breakfast the next morning was outstanding, and the beautiful views of the pool and the rest of the property pair quite nicely with the fresh juices and fruit! The villa was luxurious, perfectly spacious for my girlfriend and me, and felt very private. All of the staff were amazing, and we especially enjoyed chatting with Selva, who gave us some great recommendations about things to do in the area. To sum it up, I can't speak highly enough of this experience! It doesn't even feel fitting to call this a hotel, because I definitely felt like I was at a resort. When I inevitably return to Puerto Viejo (there's no way I can stay away after this) I will absolutely be staying at La Prometida!

What an amazing experience we had at La Prometida. First the basics: Andrea reached out the day of our arrival to say hi and see if we needed anything; any requests got a super fast response; free on-site parking; nice well-lit, 24-hour pool; towels for your shower (changed daily) and beach towels. The really special qualities: Freshly made French press coffee delivered to your door with tiny pastries at 7am; fresh made-to-order breakfast from a breakfast menu with vegeterian options; Andrea and Fransisco have a wealth of knowledge and want to make sure that you enjoy your stay and have plenty to do; the design is exceptional so many beautiful touches down to the small plates that come with breakfast for butter and jelly. I could say a lot more but don't want to ruin the surprise and intrigue of this charming place!
