I rarely leave reviews, but our stay at Princesa Island Resort and Spa in Puerto Princesa was so disappointing that I feel compelled to warn others. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that guest experience is not a priority. The front desk staff were rude, unhelpful, and made us feel like we were a bother rather than valued guests. We booked our room online and were not informed that there would be loud construction happening directly above the rooms starting at 8am. So much for sleeping in or enjoying a peaceful vacation. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable—hard as a rock—and the room itself was not clean. The curtain smelled strongly of mold and mildew, and the general cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The on-site restaurants were another disaster. Service was painfully slow, and it seemed like the staff didn’t care. After waiting over an hour for dinner one night, we gave up and left. We couldn’t help but feel like we were treated differently for not being Filipino, which was deeply upsetting. To make matters worse, the place was swarming with mosquitos, and the spa—which should’ve been relaxing—left me bruised. I asked for medium pressure during my massage and had to plead for them to go gentler, but was ignored. Overall, it was a truly horrible experience. I would never stay here again and strongly advise others to avoid this place. There are far better options in Puerto Princesa—this resort is a huge disappointment.

My experience at Princesa Garden was beyond my expectations. To be honest, I was a bit worried at first because I had read a review saying the resort wasn’t nice and had many issues, especially due to ongoing renovations. But when we arrived, I was pleasantly surprised—it was actually very nice! The resort was clean, the staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. The food was great—yes, it was a bit pricey because of the added VAT and service charge, but it was delicious, so it was worth it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place! 😊

I had a wonderful stay at Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa. The staff was attentive and helpful. The resort is beautiful and well-appointed. Breakfast was delicious and there was a wide variety of options. The transport to the airport was prompt and comfortable. I highly recommend staying at Princesa Garden Island Resort and Spa.

Great facility plenty of activities, services where fantastic, the gym especially was sensational and I would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone after a luxury holiday in the Philippines

Honestly, the place was okay. Had a lot to offer but definitely not as great as they advertise it to be. A lot of things are under construction or not well maintained. They were also quite unresponsive to emails and calls prior to and during our stay. Taking up to 4 days before getting a response. But what really hurts the experience is the reception. They aren’t very welcoming or accommodating at all. I booked this place for our honeymoon but it didn’t feel special at all. I had messaged them in advance but we were assigned a double room instead of a king. Requested to transfer but their general tone wasn’t very understanding. Only after I had complained about the room having a broken shower door they transferred us to another room (still a double though). Even then the room we got moved to had a stinky shower area due to the drain not working. It overflowed every time we showered. I didn’t say anything though since the guest services seemed very annoyed every time I called and I didn’t want to be a difficult guest. There were also a couple of instances the staff had forgotten my orders at the restaurant. I don’t know if this is because they are understaffed or just forgetful. The pool attendants, room attendants, and security staff were always so polite and nice though. The place and the service (especially) didn’t quite match my expectations based on their advertising and reviews I had read. But I guess if you don’t have any expectations this place is okay.

The hotel was bad and electricity cut on the building for a day and I wait until next day until they shift me to another building . I won’t go there again even if it’s free

Very nice property & all the staff are very courteous from the driver that picks us up to everyone that walk by you in the property. The receptionist, chambermaids, the waiters are all giving superb customer service. Very clean property but the telephone & remote control needs to be sanitized —- the phone smells & the tv remote control is very sticky with all the oils from hands. I would highly recommend this beautiful resort.

We were supposed to be picked up by hotel when we arrived but had to wait for more than one hour ... Hotel landscape is beautiful, staff are nice. Last day of our stay, the section where we resided was undergoing some construction ,the lift was out of work and we had to climb the stairs to reach the 5th floor

I was looking forward of our stay in this hotel, unfortunately maybe I jx set my expectations high. The staffs are courteous and friendly. Breakfast was okay. The room was not as I expected , I was a bit disappointed. But I was too tired to complain. Though the room looks clean but it has an awful old smell that made me sneeze a lot. 🤧

Service are just so-so , cause of airport transfer to hotel let us wait very long time but the staff are nice and good . Facilities are nice and good , but noisy at morning cause of under renovation . Food are standard , good and fair price we enjoy , the breakfast buffet are nice and good , but some waiter are quite lack of training to assist customers at buffet area and Italian resto .

Don't go there Horrible experience, the reviews do not reflect the place, it is far from being a 5 star hotel. There's no beach, just a terrible mangrove with old villas. The hotel common facilities are very old and dated, there's trash and old furniture around. The 'water park' is one small pool and other pool with a water slide, well, the slide wasn't working. The game room was decent, but no coins were available for some of the games. Broken parts everywhere, a broken assemble on the mini golf, the hotel is under construction in some parts. There are 2 new buildings, and the room we got was great, with an exit directly in one of the pools and an external jacuzzi, but the pool was not properly cleaned and the hotel does not do insect prevention, so the room was full of insects. Literally the wall next to our room was a construction site, so in the morning we would hear people working. We even got a big cockroach in our bathroom. It seems that only the ground floor and the third floor of the building has rooms operating. On the rooftop, food at the fancy Japanese restaurant was good. The only restaurant in the ground floor takes forever and in the first dinner they forgot my dish. The hotel is severely understaffed, to a point that they made us missed the transfer to the airport because our luggage was still in the room.

Location is pretty far from downtown so beware if you do not have service, overall all it has been a nice and good experience, relaxing friendly staff.
