Barcarola Club

Just checked in for the third time, and once again, Barcarola never fails to impress! The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming—it truly feels like coming home. As a lovely birthday surprise, we were given a complimentary upgrade, which was such a thoughtful touch. The recent refurbishments are fantastic, with a stunning new reception area and beautifully updated apartments. The resort is perfectly located—just off the main strip of Puerto del Carmen—yet as soon as you step through the gates, the hustle and bustle disappear, leaving you with only the sounds of birds and water. So peaceful! The pools are perfect, and the addition of new sunbeds and cabanas makes lounging even more enjoyable. Breakfast is 10/10, and the newly added Smash Burger restaurant is an absolute must-try. Whether it’s your first visit to Lanzarote or your hundredth, I can’t recommend Barcarola enough. A true gem that keeps getting better!

It was our first time in Lanzarote and we had a lovely time here. Our apartment wasn't quite ready when we arrived but we were able to store our luggage and then went for something to eat. Apartment was very clean and well maintained during our stay. Bathroom and shower were more than adequate and the bed comfy. Apartment could've done with a bit more storage space. We had the choice of two apartments and chose the one which overlooked the main strip and loved it for people and sunset watching. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Would definitely return.

Absolutely wonderful place, nothing was too much trouble for all the staff from reception to cleaners to waiters. Our 2 bed apartment was spotless, beautiful view of the pool. The terrace was a sun spot also for our daughter to sunbathe on. The breakfast buffet was also top notch, so much to choose and the omelette made to order were scrumptious. We will be back.

Came here with my family at the start of August. Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom, which was a nice surprise. Beds were a bit hard, although this is personal taste, my sons (19 & 15) didn't complain. Apartment had a safe (free) & the complex has free wifi. Kitchen/living area was a bit small, but was acceptable as I don't go on holiday to sit in my room. Fridge was stocked with a selection of drinks & snacks, bottle of water & coffee machine with pods on arrival. Overall, the apartment itself was modern, clean & of a high quality. We were staying on a bed & breakfast basis. There was a great variety of both hot & cold options to suit all tastes. Can't fault the choice available. Staff worked very hard to keep everything topped up and were very friendly. We were informed that there was building work being done on some of the apartments just before we arrived, so I was expecting the worst, but there was hardly any noise from the workmen. In fact, the flock of small, green parrots that fly about the complex made more noise! They actually installed some windows and we didn't even notice they had done it! Pool area has lots of metal framed sun loungers ( none of the cheap, plastic ones that are often broken) & several Balinese beds. The area was well maintained & spotless. The pool bar had a decent selection of food & drinks available (particularly liked the smoothies!). The staff at the bar were also very quick & friendly when serving. However, the pool area has no life guard or children's area, so this complex is perhaps not ideal for young families. Most of the guests when we were there were couples or families with teenagers. Although they say there is a policy of not reserving beds with towels, this doesn't appear to be enforced. On our last day, one older group had put towels on x5 beds, then didn't turn up until 12:30. They stayed for 20 minutes, complained it was too hot, then disappeared again - to have a lie down. They had still not returned by 15:30, 7 hours with towels on for 20 minutes of use. There is a 10% discount at the Italian restaurant & street food snack bar just outside the main entrance. Just show the room key and it is automatically deducted from your bill. Lots of other restaurants & bars within a couple of minutes walk. Complex is in an excellent location, right on the sea front, but you wouldn't know as there is next to no noise from the strip outside. Lots of trees, grassy areas, a turtle pond and loads of birds make this place a little oasis. On our last day, we requested a late check out as we weren't getting picked up until evening. normal check out is 11am, but after paying 90 euro, we had the room for as long as we liked. If late check out isn't available, there is a luggage room and curtesy shower room available which can be booked. Overall, excellent holiday, excellent accommodation & would definitely come back.

I recently stayed at the Barcarola and overall the hotel was lovely — the location is fantastic, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. However, one aspect really affected my stay, the sunbed policy around the pool. There are clear signs saying not to reserve sunbeds before 9:30am, but unfortunately this rule isn’t enforced at all. I would go to breakfast at 8.30 then head to the pool for 9 and nearly all the beds would already be ‘claimed’ with towels, many by guests who then disappeared for hours. It became clear that if I wanted to sit by the pool, I’d have to do the same which meant I would have to set an alarm, put a towel down early and play along. I really don’t like that kind of thing, but it felt like the only option. It’s a shame, because this kind of situation creates an unfair and frustrating atmosphere. If the hotel is going to have a policy, I think it needs to be properly enforced or they need to get more sunbeds as there is plenty of room. Sadly, this took away from the experience for me. I’ve read other reviews saying the sunbeds aren’t an issue, so I assume it depends on the time of year. I would like to return, but only outside of peak season when the pool area is more relaxed.

Perfect location for my 60th birthday celebrations with my wife & daughter. This place is all about the location which is perfect for the resort as it offers both tranquility & the hustle of the strip once you pass through the exit gates. Rooms are tidy and cleaned immaculately each day, with support provided by maintenance team who dealt with issue around shower seal after initial communications breakdown. One slight issue was half drank bottle of wine found in fridge in arrival but in mitigation this could have been missed due to surprise delivery of balloons for me from family prior to our arrival. Breakfast team fantastic both in product delivery & positive attitudes at all times which helps some tourists realise they are on holidays & bot at work🤷
