Villas Alondra

If you’re considering staying at Villas Alondras then I wish you an enjoyable stay. We stayed in Villa 44 - a three-bedroom Gran Deluxe Villa which was very comfortable. We found the cleaning and restaurant staff to be friendly and efficient. As many others have said in their reviews it is well located with a supermarket and bars and restaurants nearby. If you choose a Gran Deluxe Villa, Villas Alondras offer to heat the villa pool ahead of your arrival. You email Villas Alondras a few weeks ahead of your arrival. This gives them sufficient time to ensure that the pool is heated for when you arrive. This we did. You pay on arrival – currently €240 for seven days. Which we also did. However, if you want your villa pool to be heated you may be disappointed. Here is our experience and recommendations. We checked-in on a Tuesday evening. The pool looked beautiful (see image below) but was far too cold to use. We went to reception first thing the following morning (Wednesday) to report the issue with the water temperature. They said they would look into it – ‘as the temperature should be 27°c’. As we were out for the day, they sent us a WhatsApp message at 12:53 (image below) which stated ‘our technician just verified your pool and everything is running properly. It is currently 28.5°c’. This was Wednesday lunchtime. When we arrived back at the villa later that afternoon the pool was still cold – not 28.5°c. The following morning (Thursday) I took a photograph of the temperature reading on the pool heater (image below). We went back to reception and reported that the temperature was 25.1°c. They said they would get someone from ‘maintenance’ to investigate it ‘immediately'. No one turned up at the villa and no one came back to us on WhatsApp (as they had on the Wednesday). To cut a long story short, we went to reception on multiple occasions to report the low temperature (images attached). I also mentioned it twice to the pool attendants, who clean the pool on a daily basis, who said, ‘you have to pay for it' and 'see reception’. When we were leaving, at the end of our stay, the receptionist asked if we had a good time. I explained about the pool being too cold to use throughout our stay. She asked if we had paid the €240 by card (which we had) and she said she would arrange a refund with senior management. Four days after our return to the UK I still hadn’t heard anything back from Villas Alondras, so I thought it best to drop them a ‘reminder’. In the interest of transparency I have attached that reminder and their subsequent response. You will see from their reply they say they ‘follow a strict company policy with the follow-up and resolution of issues reported by guests’. If this was true, they would have followed-up with me before I had to chase them four days later. Perhaps if they had followed-up on our multiple visits to reception (rather than just once) we might have also had a resolution. There was no resolution

Wow, we arrived very hot to a very welcoming lady on reception who checked us in and drove us up to our villa. Absolutely blown away with this accommodation, you could probably park 3 or 4 cars on the drive, huge morrocan style front door which opens up to the beautiful lounge with the pool right outside it, either side are the bedrooms, ones with huge shower the other with large bath, wall in wardrobes off each bedroom, kitchen and dining area and utility room with everything you need there. Outside then is great size pool and great seating area and good size garden. The onsite Arenas restaurant offers a large variety of food and drink at breakfast. We ate there our first night and highly recommend as food was delicious. My only negative is a gentleman in the restaurant who I think is possibly the Manager, not very welcoming and almost as if we were a bit of an inconvenience but other than that's we had a very relaxing holiday and would definitely stay again.

Great accommodation in the villa. Fantastic service from all staff. However, we did have a major problem picking up our car from TopCar at Arrecife Airport. The pick up area in the car park was dark and poorly (non-existent) lit At 9pm, there were no staff at the dark pick-up point – although there were many staff at the daylight drop-off point! There are some bays with crossed barriers between bays (see photo) which cannot be seen in the dark. My wife tripped over one such barrier and gashed her right shin, broke both bones in her left wrist and split her chin. We had to abandon the car and proceed to our villa by taxi. Alberto at reception took one look at Gill covered in blood and took charge! He phoned for an ambulance which took us to A&E in Arrecife. He took our luggage to the villa (which we had stayed in before) and ensured that the lights were on. By next morning, I think all Villas Alondra staff knew who we were and what had happened. Jovi at once confirmed she knew what had occurred and expressed ongoing concern every time our paths crossed, as did the general manager. All in all, the only thing Gill missed out on was the swimming pool and the rest of our stay was superb. We managed to visit all the places and restaurants that we had planned We will be back!

First review I’ve written and I thought this place definitely deserved one. Currently laid on my sun lounger on our last day and don’t want to go home . From the moment we arrived the staff were all friendly and helpful and that carried on through out our stay , but a special mention to Alberto who we first met when he drove us round to our villa . He was extremely helpful and polite and made you feel welcome . Once arriving at our villa (no 9) after an easy check in Alberto showed us round and explained everything too us and to our surprise our villa came with the added bonus of its own hot tub which apparently not all the classic villas come with . The villas are beautiful and have everything you could need , a home from home . After settling in we went off to the local supermarket which is around 6 min walk (down hill) we planned on getting a taxi back up the hill but just as we where paying Alberto happened to be in there and when he saw us had no hesitation in offering to take us back to our villa , great service All the facilities on site are excellent, the breakfast was plentiful and in a beautiful setting and the gym has everything you’d need. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend to all .

The villa was absolutely stunning and the staff there were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble, we loved the villa! However we visited the bar on site around five times. The first night we arrived we had lovely cocktails, we visited again and were informed we could only have beer as the bar wasn’t opened yet. The other times we tried to have a drink there the bar was closed as they were preparing for functions. As much as we totally understand this it would be nice if villas Alondra let their residents know about this beforehand to enable them to make other plans. We would recommend this villa complex, we felt safe and secure with the gates closing at certain times so only guests had access.

Absolute slice of heaven. The facilities, staff, local area were all just top notch. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay for longer. The staff make this place and we’ve loved every second of being here. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was delicious. We’ll absolutely be back
