Hotel Tropical

My new favourite place to stay in Tenerife North. Everything was absolutely perfect. I was a bit dubious after reading reviews but can happily say I’m glad I ignored them. Location is right in the heart of Puerto De La Cruz. Shops, bars, restaurants and ATM’s on the doorstep. Staff very friendly and helpful. I had a budget single room which was a more spacious than I was expecting. Bed very comfortable, good shower, microwave, kettle, tv, mini fridge and nice sized wardrobe with extra bedding if needed. The room and hotels were very clean. Lovely rooftop swimming pools and numerous chill areas and tables. Great breakfast and lots to choose from. I liked it that much I’ve extended my stay another few while I do some remote work. Perfect.

The hotel location is superb ,right next to the old town square with restaurants and shops. The basic room we chose was small with comfortable twin beds, clean and quiet. It had a small "kitchen " type fitted into a cupboard area, within it ,2 ring hob and various utensils , sink and fridge. The shower was built high off the floor, so too difficult for limited mobility or some senior retirees. Ok for youngsters. The reception is not easily found and you check in at Park Playa apartments. This should be made clear on bookings. It is then a walk through Park Plaza and using a lift to get to the Tropical.

Great location, rooms very clean, room 508 had great view overlooking the square. Staff friendly and helpful. Entrance a bit difficult to locate as not below the hotel name where you would expect it to be. We did find a couple of cockroaches inside kitchen draw but would not stop us returning as they can be expected in hot countries

The hotel is very old , it is definetly a budget hotel, we had a internal room , no balcony and one small window that you couldn't open because the extractor fan outlet from the hotel kitchen was directly opposite the window and the smell was disgusting . The heat in this room was horrendous leading to our 2 night stay of no sleep . My daughter's room was much better she had a lovely balcony and hers had been refurbished however they had cockroaches in there room and every morning woke up with drilling outside there room . All in all we wouldn't go back . It's a shame location wise 1010

24h Rezeption, Roof Top Pool, Fahrstuhl, öffentliche Parkplätze vor dem Haus, viele Gratisparkplätze in der Nähe (3 Minuten) DZ mit Aussicht: 30qm, Bad mit Fenster, Badewanne, Fön, Zimmer mit kleiner Schrank-Küche, Kochutensilien, Geschirr, Filterkaffeemaschine, Kühlschrank, Mikrowelle Flachbild TV mit deutschen Programmen, sehr gute Matratze, extra Kissen, extra Decken, grosser Schrank, neu verglaste Balkone mit 1 Tisch & 2 Stühlen, Schiebetüre mit Doppelverglasung!, sauber & renoviert - nebenan, draussen, gute Livemusik immer bis 24 Uhr Mitten in Puerto ein einfaches, sauberes, tolles Hotel!

Hotel appears to be 2 separate hotels ,the one shown on the website looks very nice but unfortunately I can't comment on it because we were in the other one which is very basic and uninviting with no outside space, the view from our window was another guests window about 4M away. No kettle or coffee maker or toaster , you do get 2 tiny cups ,not sure what you are meant to put in them. Would not recommend.
