The hotel sits right on the sea, the waves lap meters away while eating breakfast on the terrace (though wasps can be a menace). We had a garden room, single story, peaceful and quaintly appointed. Spotlessly clean. Staff were all very warm and friendly, the breakfast was decent, but evening meals were outstanding. We like to eat out and try as many restaurants as possible, but the food was so good we ate at the hotel three of the seven nights. Location was perfect, an easy uphill stroll into town, a nice little beach called Spiaggia Isuledda five minutes walk south, La Cinta beach nearby by of course, along with plenty of other world-class beaches a short drive away. Loved it.

Great big rooms with balconies and a mini fridge and nice breakfast selection included in the room, the cakes are freshly baked and taste delicious. The staff are all nice and friendly I cannot thank them enough to make our stay really good. There is a swimming pool and the hotel is by Cala d’Ambra beach, the town centre is a bit far if you don’t have a car or scooter you have to walk uphill for a bit, it’s good exercise but just mindful of people with mobility issues. The only improvement I would make is to have a kettle with some coffee and tea bags in the rooms.

What a wonderful stay we had! Beautiful grounds, great breakfast lots of choice and the restaurant for the evening is a must and fairly priced. All staff speak good English. The beach isn't the best in Sardinia as its shingle/pebbly however you don't have to go far for more sandy beaches and its a beautiful location for breakfast over the water. About a 15 min walk into town so great location. The rooms could do with some updating however the cleaners do a fantastic job every day with fresh towels and it is spotleslly clean. The biggest thankyou is to Stella who organises trips/car hire etc, what a kind and lovely woman she is, she made us feel so welcome was extremely helpful and made our experience amazing. Would 100% reccomend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit San teodoro. Thank you Stella! And to all the staff and the cutest cats ever!

This hotel has great location right on the beach, We've stayed here 3 times and this last time was the worst. The lifeguards kind of ruin the beautiful beach by having such a bad attitude. They yelled at my wife for opening an umbrella. And yelled about washing our feet. The guy was upset we didn't understand his poor English. You need patience to work at an international hotel. It might be because I'm American and my wife's German. Last year, the concierge, Clara, was great. The new one, Stella, doesn't want to work. "I don't make dinner reservations." Everything she says is an excuse not to help. It's too bad, we really like this place but might look for a new one.

Just returned from a 5 night stay. Can’t recommend this charming hotel enough. Great setting on the beach. Pool in good location, close to the beach and bar. Staff very friendly, and we’re happy to help when out inbound flight was cancelled meaning we had to get an earlier flight. We called ahead and they arranged an extra nights stay which meant we did not have to find another hotel in the area for the night. We stayed in a superior double room which was great. Decor is a little dated but for €380 for 4 night stay we can’t complain. Rooms were cleaned to a good standard daily. Rooms could do with some coffee/tea facilities though. The continental breakfast served In The restaurant was to a good standard and can be eaten on the balcony while watching the sunrise. Hotel restaurant is also very nice. San Teodoro town Center is a short 10 minute walk with lots of lovely restaurants and bars. Will definitely stay at Hotel L'Esagono again on our next visit to San Teodoro.

Horrible rooms - impolite and arrogant management We 2 adults 1 baby stayed for 3 nights. Our room was very mouldy. Management didn’t offer any help or other room. Yoga and beach towels were not available due to off season. Baby pool and playground was closed as well. We had to escalate over *********** because the management did not provide any help or refund due to the horrible room. Even *********** could not help us with the hotel. All in all absolutely not recommendable! Please stay away if you want to stay healthy!

This is a terrific hotel right on the beach and a 10 minute walk into San Teodoro where there are great restaurants, bars and shops. Rooms are spacious, great beds and pillows and large bathrooms. Pool area is large with many lounges provided. Fabulous breakfast catering to many different tastes. The hotel restaurant was superb for dinner and we were a party of 9. The only down side I was not aware of was no pool/ beach towels are provided you need to bring your own

Lovely staff in the restaurant...5/5 The hotel has several drawbacks. Breakfast was average, and although the location was brilliant the hot morning sun is hot hot hot and insufficient shade, Fruit provided was mediocre , never varied and looked tired, coffee, for Italy very poor. The rooms are fine, cleaned carefully. Facilities in the room do not include coffeemaking, nor drinking water. I found it shocking that we had to buy all our drinking water as the hotel only supplies it at breakfast. I have never experienced that before! Food... well its hard to beat such beautiful surroundings, but there is little variation in the menu, and great for a few days, but after that...time to experiment with local restaurants...but so hard to leave the tables beside the lapping sea, and watching the evening light change over Tavarola... I would recommend the rooms farthest away. The beach is good and so convenient, the sea clean. Whilst not being the most amazing beach, it offered white sand, comfortable chairs, friendly guards, clean water and safety. Not to mention the view of Tavarola and surrounding islands. 5 stars for that! Toiletries were supplied but we had to ask for more, and very unexciting

Beautiful hotel, right on the beach, with a gorgeous view of Tavolara island. Modest hotel, but you really have everything you need. The staff are incredibly nice, which is quite refreshing. The entire place is well kept and clean and the food is good. Nice for solo travelers, couples, families, children. It's a place for everyone.
