Agriturismo Guthiddai

I was staying here due to work purposes of a nearby hotel. That particular hotel has a prestigious reputation, but it did not compare to the hospitality of " Agriturismo Guthiddai"! The host himself was wonderful and so helpful. The breakfast was amazing, and the restaurant on site was some of the most delicious food I have had in Sardinia. Everything they serve is made on site including their hand made grappa! The rooms are comfortable, calming and quite and the surrounding views of the mountains are spectacular. A great place to see the various moon cycles, sunrises and sunsets! I will most definitely be visiting again for leisure purposes!

We arrived at Guthiddai with high expectations, with our Lonely Planet naming it as one of the best Agriturismo on the island. Fortunately these expectations were met, as we enjoyed a three night stay. We stayed in a "comfort" room, which was exactly that, with a small terrace overlooking the olive trees. The breakfast buffet was good, but dinner was simply delicious, even better than the meal we enjoyed at the luxury hotel 1km up the road. Guthiddai gets a five star rating due to the personal and charming service from Antonella and Marcello. They work hard to keep their guests happy, providing advice on hiking, conjuring up picnic lunches in a matter of minutes (we didn't order in advance) and taking time to talk about their story and the farm. Lovely people and a welcoming base for the many attractions in the area. We left with some great memories as well as some of the farm produced olive oil and wine.

Dear Antonella, Gianluca & parents, From the moment we drove in to your beautiful property we were highly impressed! The beautiful gardens the typical cozy building and very warm welcome from you and your brother is like we’ve experienced at no place before. As colleagues in this business we’ve travelled the world and we were selected in 1997 world’s best hotel managers so please accept our indication of appreciation of your small paradise. We’ve experienced that your parents are a very very important asset to the Agriturismo and we’ve been delighted to have met them during our stay! The warm way you’ve received us while you were actually closed and made even a nice meal with your home made excellent wines was heartbreaking for us! Like to tell you that we’ve felt at home from the first moment and we were a bit sad to have to leave. So we promise you to be back very very soon at least as soon as we can because we love your place and we love all of you in Gutthidai. What a great place with wonderful people!

Short but excellent stay. Agriturismo Guthiddai is a place where you can enjoy some freedom and let your mind relax from the everyday chaos that is around us. Antonella and Marcello are very busy people, but they were always smiling and took care of all details. Marcello thank you for the watermelon…😊 Lovely people!!! Excellent agriturismo run by enthusiastic and welcoming siblings in their family's former farm. Location is spectacular and many activities await nearby. There is a well known luxury hotel nearby but I strongly recommend staying at Guthiddai instead and go to "the other place" for dinner (if you are staying more than one night at Guthiddai, because dinner is great here too, though simpler).

We stayed for three nights in late September and had a fabulous time! The agriturismo is run by three siblings in what was their grandmother’s home, and the staff really make you feel at home. Luca was very welcoming, and Antonella provided so many great recommendations for us as we changed our plans due to rain. We ate at the restaurant every night of our stay, and the food was hearty and delicious. The set menu was different every night, from the antipasti and primi to the secondi. You get a choice of dessert each night. Everything was amazing but the main courses were outstanding: sheep stew (mentioned in our travel guide book), roasted pork and sausage with potatoes, and melt in your mouth braised lamb. They also serve wine and olive oil that they made themselves. The atmosphere is casual and lively. Breakfast was also great: cold cuts, breads, tarts, cereal, eggs, and fresh fruit, including tomatoes from the garden. Dinner and breakfast were served indoors, with doors left open for a breeze, and tables are assigned. The courtyards are beautiful and a fun place to enjoy your aperitif while taking in the views of the mountains and olive groves and listening to goat herds bleating in the distance. Our room was quite comfortable, which lots of space in the bedroom and bathroom, and a big armoire and desk. I liked the traditional Sardinian patterns on the duvets, and wooden doors. Each room is accessed from the outdoors (or open air hallway), though there are various one-off steps to navigate. The balcony was furnished with comfy chairs and a nice screen door. The room was extremely clean, and housekeeping thorough. They provide a combo body wash / shampoo and hair dryer. We requested a packed lunch and rented beach towels for one of our beach days, which was very convenient. The lunch was quite tasty and filling— 2 sandwiches each, plus grapes, water, and a juice box. The grounds are beautiful— gardens and olive groves all around. Fig and pomegranate trees. The road is paved until you reach the property, at which point it becomes a gravel road. In all, this made for a rejuvenating home away from home.
