Although I visited 1000’s of places in my life, I have never written reviews as I neither had the time or the inclination to do so. However, I felt I had to share the outstanding experience I had when I stayed in September last year, in a very small and reasonably priced hotel in the middle of nowhere in the wine region of Georgia (the country next to Russia and Azerbaijan, not the city in the US). And I did. But today, I feel I have to share my very bad experience staying in September this year, in this very small and reasonably priced B&B in an area of Italy which I love and visit at least once a year: Liguria The quality provided by L’Intrigante near Seborga was totally unacceptable and the proposed offer on *********** was very misleading. Here in my experience: 1/ It is not mentioned on *********** that access to the property by car was is possible. You have to leave the car on the upper road and drag your belongings down an extremely steep hill. And the same when you leave, but this time it is up! So, one needs to be very fit and without much luggage. 2/ Pictures on *********** relate to L’intrigante about 10 years ago. Now, the property looks very much run down. Most of the pictures on *********** show bedrooms on the first floor with a balcony with a view of the valley and the sea beyond. But, although I had reserved such room, we were told on arrival that rooms on the first floor were no longer available to guests. Only the ground floor flat is available for guests. 3/ The flat only has one door which gives access to the outside. It leads to what is described on *********** as the “Patio”. It is only wide enough for 1 chair and is along a track which is used by cars from other properties and so less than romantic. Being the only way out from the flat, the “Patio” is dangerous for children, not just from cars, but there is also a very steep ravine on the other side of the track. Moreover, it is not possible to secure the door on the inside, so the owner (or whoever has a key to that door) would be able to come in during the night while you are asleep, which is rather unnerving. 4/ In the kitchen/lounge there are no curtains on windows, so anybody passing by, day and night can see inside. The trash can from previous guests was not emptied. The inside of the fridge smelt and it was mouldy. There was some rotten food inside the ice compartment and it was filthy. The inside of the microwave was filthy and the handle of the door was partly coming off. The oven door was taped shut. 5/ In the bathroom, the toilet brush was rusty and full of excrements. The shower curtain was covered with mould up to about to about half a meter. There was mould on the tiles on the walls and along the shower basin which was dirty. The towel radiator was heavily rusty and not functioning so it was cold in the bathroom. 6/ In the bedroom, there was no curtains so anybody passing by, day and night could see inside. In one of the bedside cabinets, there was a card
