Relais le Due Matote is such a hidden gem, and I feel so lucky to have discovered it. From the moment we arrived, we were absolutely taken by the beauty of this place. The location is out of this world—stunning views all around, with snow-covered Alps stretching into the distance, and on a clear day, you can see all the way to Mont Blanc. The fact that we were there out of season made it even more special. For two whole nights, we had the entire property to ourselves, which felt incredibly peaceful and intimate, but the staff was always around, making sure we were taken care of like royalty. The hotel itself is an absolute masterpiece. It’s impeccably well-maintained, spotless, and yet filled with so much character. There’s this beautiful mix of eclectic details and gorgeous antiques that never feels crowded or overwhelming—everything is perfectly curated. The entire vibe is cozy yet luxurious, and it made us feel completely at ease. One of the most memorable experiences was the special dinner the kitchen team prepared for us at the chef’s table. Watching Chef Salvatore and his talented sous chefs create absolute magic right in front of us was something I’ll never forget. Let me tell you—this team is aiming for a Michelin star, and I believe they deserve several! The food was exceptional, and each dish felt like an artwork. We especially loved Chef Salvatore’s take on pizza fritta with Vitello tonnato—it was a playful twist on classic Italian flavors, and the balance of textures and tastes was just perfect. Salvatore, the maitre d’, made us feel so incredibly welcome, checking in on us throughout the evening and ensuring we had everything we needed. The personal touches were really appreciated, and it made the whole experience feel so intimate. The last night, the team set up a beautiful aperitif for us on the sunny terrace, and it truly felt like a magical moment—sipping cocktails as the sun set over the hills, with that gorgeous view in front of us. It’s those little moments that make you feel like you’ve found something really special. Another unforgettable experience was when Chef Salvatore took us on a Fiat drive through the rolling hills of Langhe—honestly, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was such a unique way to explore the area, and it really made us fall even more in love with this region. The rooms at Relais le Due Matote are newly renovated and ultra-luxurious. Every little detail was thought of, from the beautifully soft linens to the cozy, elegant décor. I was also thrilled to find out that the tea served at the hotel is from Fortnum & Mason—someone here knows good tea! The reception staff, especially Elia, were also wonderful—so sweet and welcoming. We brought our small poodle with us, and I have to say, she was treated like royalty too! It’s always a bonus when a hotel makes your furry friend feel just as special. An unforgettable stay at La Due Matote in Piedmont! We stayed in the “Botticelli” suite — beautifully designed in a stunning historic building. The service was warm and personal, with a truly kind and professional staff. The dining was a culinary delight, with an excellent restaurant, perfect pizzeria, and a wonderful sommelier, Antonio, who introduced us to amazing local wines. A must-visit for wine, food, and design lovers.

Io e mia moglie abbiamo deciso di trascorrere il nostro 15esimo anniversario di matrimonio presso Le due matote. Non avremmo potuto fare scelta più azzeccata! Fin dalla prenotazione Elisa e Annalisa ci hanno accompagnati nella creazione di questi 2 giorni che volevamo fossero indimenticabili. E quando siamo arrivati è stato ancora meglio delle aspettative! Tutto il personale dallo straordinario Chef Luca, Annalisa che ci ha coccolato in spa e ha saputo prendersi cura di noi e farci sentire al centro di un’incredibile esperienza di relax e Antonio che ci ha guidato nell’accompagnare i piatti dello chef con vini superbi ci hanno fatto capire che questa è un’esperienza da ripetersi sicuramente nel futuro! Luca è uno chef stellare…a mio avviso, molto presto, stellato!
