High Desert Inn

Don’t be afraid of the poor reviews, this coming from someone who has stayed at several high end hotels. You already have accepted a step below your higher standard but don’t want to break the bank on the trip. We had a CLEAN bed, CLEAN floors, fridge and microwave!! For the money, safe and well worth it! An added bonus if you have inside dogs (we didn’t), all dogs are welcome!!! Very unexpectedly pleased. I even paid extra to our 2nd night just in case we wanted to cancel and pay for a $300 room for night two.

When I arrived the lobby attendant said their computer showed Insufficient funds for their transaction from *******. I used my app to show them the paid in full receipt. I also had my bank app that showed it paid in full. This is the first time I had this happen. Not sure what is happening there, but they let me stay because of receipts. Might want to check into that.

We arrived a little early, got to check in. The front desk girl switched our room to the lower level due to our difficulty with stairs. The motel was next to a great breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurant. Couldn’t have been any more convenient. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

The room was clean though dated. Bed was fine. For the price its what I would expect. It was a bit noisy being near the highway and the bar next door, though that bar had a good breakfast. Breakfast at the hotel was coffee juice and packaged rolls with a pretty good selection.

There is not much sound proofing and you can hear the road. It's a great deal though and clean.

You get what you pay for I just needed a place to crash after 2 days of hiking so didn't need anything fancy. It fit that bill, and the property reflected the low price. Unpatched holes in the walls from removed artwork, torn carpet, stained lamp shades, thin walls, old everything. But it was clean and the bed comfortable. If it hadn't been for the AC unit fan, I would have never slept thanks to a neighbor's blaring TV. My TV's remote wouldn't turn the TV on/off, but would change the channels.The lacking Continental breakfast was just fine considering the price point... But don't wait! When stuff runs out, it's out! The staff did their best with what they had to work with. You get what you pay for, and in the end I was just grateful for the low price.
