Me and my partner had a lovely time on Dartmoor and the stay at the Ramblers was fantastic. Niki the owner was very very friendly and also made sure we were ok. I would highly recommend the accommodation. Very clean , good size room and places to eat also in the area. Niki was always available if required. Would 100% return. 👍🏾

I was made very welcome after being stranded in the snow. The rooms are fantastic, with everything you need: Lovely and warm Really comfortable bed Lots of room to relax Facilities to make tea/coffee etc Well thought out bathroom with a superb shower as well. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners.

Great few days away - Right in the middle of a Red weather warning. Very accommodating went above and beyond in a storm and power cut. Making sure we were as comfortable as we could be . Pizza oven to cook on if we needed Room great , comfy bed, warm and cosy. Sadly didn’t get to use the hot tub due to the weather All amenities you need for a few days of walking and relaxation - We took our own bottles of wine and treats as it was my husband birthday. And a few things for breakfast. There is a Little basic shop within Ramblers Rest . Or several cafes if you want to treat yourself And a couple of pubs , a connivence store all within walking distance One negative the fridge in our room noisey

The accommodation was superb stayed here a number of times and will continue to do so Ideal base for a hiking moorland holiday. Would recommend to anyone wishing to visit Dartmoor suitable for families couples or groups of friends. Terry and Nikki the Ramblers Rest hosts are very friendly and helpful, making everyone feel welcome.

Extremely comfortable beds, well thought out facilities and very friendly hosts. My friends and I always have a good time when we visit and it is the perfect place to rest and relax after enjoying big days out on the moor. We are repeat customers and will be back next October, if not before.

This is a great place to stay in the middle of Dartmoor. On the end of the main street with the local food and drink offerings just a few steps away. The room was great. Comfortable bed and kettle and coffee machine. Th enormous hot tub is amazing, and we made use of it in the evening, looking for stars between the clouds. We would definitely stya there agin.

Lovely clean room with comfortable bed & excellent facilities, all in a perfect location central to Dartmoor National Park. Very friendly & helpful hosts make the Ramblers Rest one of my favourite destinations for a short break. I’ll definitely be booking another stay next year & wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends & colleagues.

We have stayed at The Railway Ramblers' Rest twice before and Nikki & Terry are excellent hosts. Communication prior to your stay is superb; explaining how to find them, where to eat and the discounts available at various shops in Princetown. The rooms are extremely well-equipped with everything you could possibly need for self-catering and the beds are very comfortable too. New facilities have been added like the large heated hot tub, sheltered outdoor seating, a pizza oven and BBQ's, which must be great to use in better weather. Behind the property is a secure car park & their amazing ice-cream kiosk selling a wide choice of the most delicious ice-cream. Also from the car park are walks straight onto the open moor, plus there are further walks across Dartmoor from just behind the Visitor Centre opposite. We cannot recommend the Railway Ramblers' Rest highly enough, and look forward to hopefully staying with them again in the future.
