Arka Motel

My friends and I did a weekend getaway to Arka after we saw the renovation on HGTV and it did not disappoint. We loved hanging out at the pool during the day and spent our nights laughing around the fire pit with cocktails. The rooms were super cute and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend by the lake. We will be back for sure!

We booked the 2-bedroom Lakeview suite at Arka Motel for our annual college girls trip and it was perfect! The suite had a full kitchen, so we cooked a couple meals together and hung out on the patio with wine, just soaking in the view. We mostly hung out at the pool during the day which has a cool retro vibe. It had everything you need and was clean, cute and cozy - 10/10. Already planning our next trip back!

Spent a couple nights at Arka Motel with the kids and had a great time. We were out on Beaver Lake fishing all day—lots of good spots close by, and Prairie Creek Marina was super convenient. Loved that they had boat parking right at the motel, made things way easier. After a long day on the water, the kids hit the pool while I relaxed by the fire pit. The room was clean, comfy, and had everything we needed. Really nice setup for a laid-back, outdoor weekend. We’ll definitely be coming back.

We had the best weekend at Arka Motel! It’s super close to Prairie Creek Marina, so we rented a boat and spent the whole day out on Beaver Lake—absolutely gorgeous. After that, we chilled by the pool as the sun went down. The room was really cute, super clean, and had everything we needed to relax after a fun day. Perfect little getaway spot—we’ll definitely be back!

The motel is obviously recently updated: new paint, new fixtures, new furnishings - all nice. There was an abundance of towels in the bathroom - always a plus. ;-) The issue that we had was that it was soooooo COLD!! Yes, it was December, yes there was a bit of "Old Man Winter" in the air; however, we could not get the room heater to stay on! We could get it to run/cycle, and then it would turn off. It was bad enough that both my husband and I had to wear sweats and an additional sweater to bed! The next morning I called the office number, and the nice woman stated that we should have used the control differently, and it would have remained on, BUT there were NO written instructions, for the heater, the TV, or actually anything else. It seems as though they present themselves as a boutique/quasi-vacation rental motel; however, there were no dishes (disposable or other), no paper towels, no extra garbage liners, no kitchen towel or sponge, no dish soap, no silverware or glasses. I don't believe that there was any wrongdoing on their part. I think that they way that things are worded on their site, and when I spoke with someone in their office to make the reservation, I got a different impression of what it would be like. The woman that we spoke with on that next morning did give us a refund of the second night. She was polite and responsive, so no issues there! Now, having said all of that, I would recommend the motel. I would just suggest that if you're going to stay for more than one night, you are prepared to deal with dining needs. And... bring a sweater!
