My sister and I have been going to Hotel Nazionale for 12 years . And when I read reviews that the staff are not helpful.. I must be staying in a different Hotel the owners and Family and all the staff are exceptional. My sister who is Unwell is helped in every possible way by everyone at the Hotel .we can’t wait to go back . Christine Roberts London

What a charming hotel. It's located right in the heart of Portofino. The rooms are spacious and clean. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great with many choices. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again.

Location very central and easy to find whether arriving by boat or bus. Room was small and overlooked the side street. There was a streetlamp just outside the window and the curtains were light, so sleep was disturbed. Aircon was efficient. Reception service was great and helpful Breakfast was plentiful and taken in the restaurant downstairs overlooking the harbour, which was pleasant before the daytrip crowds arrived. This is as good value as Portofino offers, so would recommend but not if on a budget!

Do not recommend this place, the worst customer service ever experienced following an issue with the AC. During summer on a hot day the AC was not working, the hotel was not able to resolve it and refused to provide any compensation. When requesting a compensation the response was rude and aggressive.

Absolutely the best hotel in the city and most beautiful view! Crew Really helpful and rooms are comfortable/ luxe . Suite has best view on the harbour. There is no elevator so little hard the take suitcases

Portofino is an expensive place so I had not expected to be in such a good hotel for the price we paid. Hotel Nazionale has a superb location on the main square and is immediately adjacent to the Splendido Mare, but costs about one tenth of the amount to stay. Our room was spacious, well equipped, quiet and cool, and appeared to have been recently refurbished. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly - they gave us good tips on things to do and, for example, gave us towels to take to the beach at San Fruttuoso. Breakfast was excellent, with superb views. Portofino was a joy to visit and we will definitely return. Without doubt we will stay at the Nazionale.

Hotel Nazionale's location is what makes it. It sits on the main piazza/harbor of Portofino, making it ideal for walkers who want to pop in and out of the action. The breakfast is lackluster; dinner was better (I had a yummy pizza with spicy salami). The building is very old and has charm, and the room was large and comfortable. Large, nice bathroom, too, and the room was very clean. The staff were young and kind, although they weren't quite as helpful as the people working in the hotels of my other stops during my Italy trip. It was a bit pricey for what you get, but that's Portofino.

Wow... we had a room with a balcony and view of the harbour... so happy we chose this hotel... couldn't be a better location in Portofino... room had a mezzanine level with the bed... the rest of the room was living space... bathroom was modern and clean with huge towels... there are a few stairs but there are staff to help with bags of needed...a great stay.

The hotel is in a perfect location that is surrounded by the harbor with all the bars and restaurants. Extremely nice and accommodating staff. Beautiful picture perfect view of sea from room 14. Nothing could have been any better. It made a short trip to Portofino extremely lovely.
