Blind Tiger Portland - Carleton Street

A hiding gem. If you like privacy, if you love quiet and small boutique, if you love to feel you actually live in Portland, if want to explore the city with walking distance, if you like to just no stress and wake up in the morning and the breakfast is ready for you, if you want to grab a bottle of chilled water includes sparkling one and maybe a clementine for afternoon break also enjoy the living room.... Historical building with very responsive attendant that just one text message away. 5 stars and thank you!

Wow! What a charming, clean, and accommodating B&B. We would recommend this quaint stay to anyone traveling to Portland. The neighborhood was absolutely beautiful and we felt extremely safe and comfortable coming back to The Blind Tiger at all times. The breakfast spread took obvious time and effort with the variety of food options and beverages. Parking was easy and always available. Please don't miss out on this one of a kind experience!

I only stayed one night but absolutely loved this hotel. It oozed charm. The little "help-yourself" pantry was a welcome site when we arrived after midnight. And the coffee station was easy to find in the morning before Maggie arrived ready to make pancakes! Was also delighted that they had a non-dairy milk option. For being an old house in Maine in January I was impressed how warm and inviting it felt. Will definitely be back!

This was our first stay at the Blind Tiger. This was a beautifully restored old house; brightly lit, clean, with good electrical and plumbing. The air conditioning functioned well but did make strange noises on occasion. We were placed on the second floor just off the stairs. The room was quiet, even as the B&B was busy. Our room was large, with a spacious white tiled bathroom with shower. The toiletries were of good quality. The closet was sufficient and came with an iron and ironing board. The bead was large and comfortable. But it was quite tall. In fact the bed came to my chest. The B&B supplied a step stair for guests to climb up to bed. We had no difficulties but I thought this was worth mentioning. Breakfast was plentiful and sufficient. Plenty of bread, carbs, coffee, and cereal. The staff was competent and helpful. Mostly they stayed out of the way although they were available with advice and information. There was on site parking, WiFi, and a 24 h snack bar on the first floor. The B&B is very well situated, only one block from Congress Street. Drinks and dining are only steps away. I can recommend staying at the Blind Tiger.

The perfect getaway for our anniversary trip! Exquisite interiors and fabulous hospitality, felt cared for and welcomed every moment! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and the homemade bread and butter included in the mouth-watering breakfast spread was delicious and so memorable. Staying here made our first trip to Maine so perfect. The beds are soft and spacious and communication is superb. The backyard garden is serene and lovely, the pantry well stocked, and we especially loved their little mixology station/kit. All in all, Blind Tiger blew us away and we’ll definitely be back!

Blind Tiger Carleton is a beautifully restored 1899 brownstone in the Portland West End--we had a wonderful time enjoying the guesthouse, the yummy snacks, walking through the historic neighborhood (check out the Western Prom!), and enjoying Portland's excellent culinary scene. The Blind Tiger team (looking at you Maggie and Natalie!) were wonderful!
