After being totally disappointed by the service and menu at Pilchards, we opted for the restaurant at this hotel instead. Oysters and fish and chips to die for!! The oysters were huge and garnished well and the haddock was beautiful with a lovely light batter. Accompanied by really well cooked chips and a delicious curried tartare sauce and peas. Definitely a must if you are passing or staying in the area.

This was our worst meal in seven weeks travelling across the UK. Shepherds pie was so over salted barely edible. When we told the staff they said “ yep the cook does put a lot of salt in his food”. The crab brioche was shameful. The bun was so stale it was almost like a rock. Couldn’t eat it and the crab was the smallest amount you could barely taste it. To add insult to injury it was very expensive. The only good thing about the place was the lovely staff and the drinks. Can’t go wrong with a Guinness.

The rim on the toilet was filthy and the shower plug hole full of hair, we told Reception who said they sent House keeping in to inspect and clean when we returned to our room, nothing had been done. Very uncomfortable bed, lumpy and soft. Breakfast OK, full English presented all fancy, poach egg hard over done.

£10.80 for a pint and a pint of coke… seriously? The person behind the bar didn’t even give eye contact. I know it’s the end of the season, but come on, at least fake some interest in your customers. It would be nice to feel welcomed, even if it’s a busy or slow day. It doesn’t take much to offer a smile or a bit of acknowledgment. A little effort goes a long way in customer service

Lovely setting close to the water, with a nice beer garden out the front which is perfect for the summer evenings. Nice selection of beers, coders and spirits, including local options too, and a very nice food menu too. Scenic and worthwhile

Lovely comfortable and clean rooms, very welcoming and friendly staff, didn't eat evening meal as considered the menu rather overpriced, however the breakfast which was included in our stay was lovely. Overall very nice but quite pricey.

Friendly staff, nice coffee (decaf and oat milk). Nice Inch’s cider too. Tables outside the front and across the road in the terrace garden. There were umbrellas for those not wanting the sun. Spent a nice afternoon watching all the comings and goings.

Great room, very clean, comfortable bed, great customer service. Everyone was so friendly. The food in the restaurant was amazing. We come here every time we come to Cornwall and we are always so happy with the service, food and drinks. Definitely a place to visit.

Great large fish and chips and my partner thinks the steak is amazing for desert we both had soufle which was brilliant and the views are stunning. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. Overall fantastic experience! Definitely recommend.
