Paradise on earth...really! We initially booked into the Junior Suite, room 10 which is gorgeous, with the most stunning views of the sea, and other islands, right from your bed. That room is on two levels with stone-steps in between and unfortunately my elderly husband got up in the night and fell down the steps, causing an injury. After a trip to the rather rustic hospital, with the aid of the local police, we returned the same night. By the morning word of the accident had got around and Ian, the GM and staff could not have been more wonderful. Housekeeping head, Cellas, had her lovely staff move us and our belongings to a safer room, with no steps and it's own pool, where we lived out the remainder of our stay in great comfort and with no further incidents! Fabulous in every way...the bedroom, living space, pool, patio and views in our new room (#8) were like being in the tropics in the 1920s. Total luxury and just enough fellow guests to enhance rather than spoil the ambiance! Most of all the staff, lead by Ian and Ops Manager, Shardelle, are beyond wonderful, kind, thoughtful and incredibly helpful, without having to be asked. For example, Lois, a member of the housekeeping staff, is also a geriatric nurse and gently and competently helped my injured husband on with his sweater. Aside from making excellent drinks, (try his passion-fruit daiquiri) Esau, the bartender has a friendly, humane demeanor and took it upon himself to suggest our room-move to Ian and then frequently stopped by to see how we were doing. I also need to mention James, the tall security-man, who seemed to pop up each evening after dinner, without being asked with an offer to escort us back to our villa, with his steadying support and powerful flashlight, and would stop by frequently during our stay to check on our welfare. Guests tend to stay mostly in and around their individual villas, so when you're on the beach, you have it virtually to yourself. Grounds staff do a great job of keeping the Sargassum seaweed at bay, the garden and pools are tended to daily and everything inside and out is pristine and quietly luxurious. The food is quite marvelous. Mostly we enjoyed delicious individually made full breakfasts on our villa's patio, the eggs were perfectly poached and the daily fresh juices were exotic and refreshing (especially the raspberry juice). The chef and his staff prepare an appetizing and delicious menu on a different theme each day...the food is fresh, looks beautiful on the plate and is served by the most friendly wait-staff shout-out to Antonia and Lanique particularly. The dining room, virtually surrounded by water, has incredible views and a soft breeze wafts through...it is a place to sit and savor the great food, view and ambiance and indulge in the art of doing nothing. All in all, in spite of the accident, we had a magical time at The Liming on Bequia. Selfishly, I almost don't want to tell anyone about it, so
