Our apartment was spacious and comfortable and the location was ideal, it had everything we needed for a very comfortable 7 night stay, it contained all the basic estentials including but not limited to AC, ceiling fans, a good bed, great bathroom and shower, TV, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, cutlery, plates, glasses, tea and coffee making facilities, wardrobe storage and bucket and spade. Outside we had a table and chairs on our balcony above the pool. The apartment had great wifi, shared paid washing and drying facilities and under cover parking. The layout of the apartments in this complex allows for an open privacy which we enjoyed. Thanks for having us.

Spotless convenient and well appointed. Close to the town centre nice pool and ours had everything we needed. Owner Peter was helpful and provided clear directions. Second time here and will come back. Loved it All the resort is well maintained pool cleaned every day and garden well maintained

Our experience was not a good one. When we first arrived we were told our room had a leak and we were put in a smaller studio room that overlooked the car park. Two days later after complaining we were finally moved to a two bedroom apartment. We had initially booked a 1 bedroom apartment. We were told to try not to use the whole of the apartment!! Our accomodation was booked through luxury escapes and the Manager at Hibiscus Matt kept asking us if we had received a call from them. This had nothing to do with luxury escapes it was down to bad management of the resort, not very good customer service and we believe they had double booked our room. Matt the Manager originally said he could give us vouchers as compensation but all we wanted was the room we had booked and we felt we were being lied to.The pool was cloudy and the other pool could not be used due to construction in that area. The apartment we were moved to was nice but we lost three days of our holiday staying in a tiny room overlooking the car park!! (We were only in Port Douglas for 5 nights) The resort is situated on two busy roads and is very busy day and night. We would not stay at this resort again and would not recommend it.

Great location and friendly staff, but the room felt outdated. The toilet was very old, the bath was tiny (only use for a child!) , and the TV was old with limited free to air channels. Surprised that a 4-star hotel charged extra for fresh towels, turn-down service, and use of basic facilities like the laundry. A few updates would go a long way and make this place amazing.

Great accomodation - inner port Douglas location so can walk to beach, Main Street, shops, wharf precinct. Room access via stairs only to rooms so be aware when booking some rooms on second floor - 2 flights of stairs - No lift option. Two pools and Balinese style resort gardens

Always wanted to stay here at Hibiscus resort & so glad we did. Beautiful & clean, spacey apartment and Angelique in reception was so friendly & welcoming. Very private rooms & the pool has a beautiful tropical feel to it. Close walking distance to beach & town to just be able to ealk around. We will definitely will stay again. Our favourite place so far in Port Douglas

I couldn't rate the Hibiscus more highly. Brilliant location with great family friendly amenities. Staff were so helpful in giving us local tips on places to eat and things to do as well. It was our second staying here and again didn't disappoint. We'll be back.

We stayed in a privately-owned first-floor apartment at this property. Be aware that there are no lifts, so you’ll need to lug your bags up the stairs. Our apartment overlooked the main pool, with people using the boardwalk able to see onto our (and others’) balcony (not a lot of privacy there). I can’t speak for the resort rooms as a whole, but ours was a little tired and in need of some TLC. The pool nearest reception was lovely (didn’t use the other one), with lots of seating/loungers and a great barbecue area. The best thing about this property is its location, being about halfway between Four Mile Beach and the marina and an easy walk to Macrossan Street with its many bars, restaurants and cafes. Oh, and the reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly!

We had booked in February for a holiday in October. We were put in room 7 which is a ground floor room stuck in the corner closest to the car park, the garbage and the laundry. We had absolutely no view and privacy. Everyone who went to the car park looked in on us and people coming down the stairs from the other side building also looked it. As the blinds are completely see through everyone could also see in of a night. As we were there for 10 nights I met many people who were there for 3, 4 and 5 nights all who had rooms with views. Everyday I asked to move as people went home to no avail. I was told rooms were allocated as you booked but I met people who had booked only a month before and had rooms with views so I was not happy. However the pools were lovely and the staff at breakfast were brilliant. Also it was very centrally located.
