Zafiro Palace Alcudia

3rd Year in a row, and didn’t disappoint again. Easily the best hotel in Alcudia. From the greeting walking in the door until you leave, the staff are different class. The boys at the pool bar recognise us every year and even though always very busy, always very welcoming and chatty. The all inclusive option is excellent, from every option possible for breakfast, the lunch options are 5* and the restaurants are on another level. The location right by the port and marina is another game changer with the beach also a 5 minute walk away. We’ve been on a lot of really good holidays over the years but when you choose the same hotel 3 years running and don’t fancy a change, then it’s clear it’s got something special. To summarise this hotel is a tired and rundown sea of feral children. It markets its self as ‘luxury 5*’ but it most certainly is not. We booked an Ikos resort same time of year for the same price last year and that was miles ahead of this hotel. We had previously stayed at the Zafiro palace Andraxt and expected the same level of luxury and service but I have been bitterly disappointed. Bad points: *the view of the 2 bed suite we had was literally of a car park. I asked reception if we could move but was told we could but for a price which I declined. *sunbeds are tatty and uncomfortable without cushions, they are literally touching each other around the pools also. The umbrellas are falling apart and fixed in the ground leaning at some times of the day I couldn’t have my daughter in the shade. *the towels and Bed sheets are full of holes and stains. *Service in restaurants is very poor- we were only offered coffee at breakfast once and the pool side restaurant service is appalling at any time of the day. *the park is next to the buffet which means parents eating dinner just let their children on there unsupervised which causes carnage- this need policing. It also means the buffet is just a free for all of the inning screaming children. I have a 3 year old so I understand children aren’t always quiet but this was butlins level. The park also needs some serious repairs it is covered with holes and paint flaking off. Good points *my daughter loved the children’s quiz that was on every night *food was of a decent quality and good range of drinks including cocktails on the all inclusive *location was good will only a few minutes walk to the harbour which had some nice restaurants Overall I have been out of the Zafiro brand- this was an overpriced holiday camp which seemed to attract the screaming children and passive parents. It is very run down and grotty. For the same price I have booked an Ikos hotel for next July- I suggest you all do the same!

Absolutely loving this hotel. Can’t fault it. Accommodation is great, spacious two bedroom apartment. We asked to be moved due to my husband’s limited mobility and nothing was too much trouble. We haven’t struggled at all to find a sun lounger and the food has been great. Breakfast at 10:15 is a little busy but then it’s our choice to come down at the end of service. The staff are superb and are making our stay such a pleasure. I think this is the nicest family hotel we’ve stayed in.
