Plimmerton train station is located in the village, allowing easy access to both Wellington city and the Kapiti Coast. Train or car to Wellington is approximately 25 minutes. The ferry terminal is 20 minutes drive. Porirua city is a quick 10 minute drive or train ride with attractions such as Te Rauparaha Arena, Pataka Museum, Aquatic centre and North City shopping mall.
