The George Guest House

Very small room with barely no space to moove around. The bathroom is tiny, the room was not clean, the furniture completely outdated and stained, torn bedsheets and towels. Old and filthy carpets. The location of the hostel is great, that's a plus, unfortunately the only plus. Kleine Zimmer, in die so viele Betten reingestellt wurden, wie es nur eben geht. Demnach gibt es keinen Platz sich darin zu bewegen oder bequem an die Koffer zu gelangen. Die Möbel sind sehr alt, fleckig und runtergewohnt. Das Badezimmer ist winzig, das Wasser in der Dusche läuft nicht ab, falls man in die Dusche passt 😉 Über den Teppichboden im gesamten Haus möchte ich mich nicht äußern... Dafür war es insgesamt sehr teuer!

Not what I was expecting, the price was steep for the a room with 3 single bed (Bedroom 6) so small this is located at the top of the property The shower is on the ground floor and the toilets are 2 floors down from bedroom 6. Decor needs some maintenance. This is the worst guest house I have stayed in Plymouth!

I dislike the tripAdvisor witch hunt that conveys the horrible western obsession with perfectionism, and view myself as someone with realistic expectations about places I stay. However, I am writing this review out of disappointment because I found this hotel very overpriced. Mould & dirt on the blind, toilet 2 flights down from the room, the room itself was really tiny and no thought or attention has gone into it. Parking is free if you are happy to shunt into a 2 metre wide rectangular space behind the building but it's likely you'll be unable to exit your vehicle if you have anything other than a slim build. Quite a frosty 'welcome' from the owner and sadly we felt there are much better places to stay when we do our regular visits to Plymouth.
