Santa Monica Suites Hotel

Great hotel, very quite, friendly staff. Cleaning can be a bit better because there where many hairs on the floor. Lovely pool with more then enough sunbeds. Breakfast wow what a lovely beginning off the day. Even a sparkling wine is presented. We will come back!

It was our first stay at this hotel and it was just perfect. The hotel is located at the edge of the dunes and a 5 minute walk to bars and restaurants. We had a garden terrace room on the ground floor. The room was large, modern and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was also large and fully equipped with a robe, slippers and toiletries. The room had a separate lounge area with large tv showing the main UK channels, plus coffee and tea making facilities, fridge and a safe. The pool area was spacious with plenty of available sunbeds and complimentary pool towels. The breakfast covered all tastes with plenty of fresh produce. We used the bar most nights. It was quite a small area and the seats were often occupied. The outside bar was not open in the winter. The pricing was reasonable for a hotel bar. The hotel itself was just perfect, however the staff, whether they be housekeeping, restaurant, bar or reception staff were excellent. The only small issue we encountered was a hit and miss wifi signal. We will definitely be returning.

Same procedure like any year, I could copy paste the same review each year. Best hotel, best staff, best location. There is absolutely nothing to complain about except the WiFi - really - drives me nuts. However, since I am on vacations I can handle that one, but some room for improvement for sure. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the beds really cozy, the room-cleaning perfect and fast and the staff in General absolutely friendly. Already at check-in you get a very warm Welcome with a glas of Cava - perfect investment to make this hotel special. The breakfast is outstanding. A broad choice of everything you expect. I ate much worse at five star rated luxury hotels for more money! The buffet in the evening for dinner ist okay, exactly what you can expect for buffet I would rate. That hotel is simply perfect. See you next year again!

This is a hotel that is not exceptional in any way, but since it consistently ticks all the boxes as "Very Good", I give it 5 stars in total. - Room and amenities: Very good. We had a room at the 4th floor. There is no need to pay extra for 5th floor, since 4th floor gives you great views over the dunes and ocean too. Wouldn't go to a lower floor though (maybe 3rd floor could just work). Good sleep quality, with decently sound-proofed rooms and very good mattresses. On a Saturday night, you will hear some noise from a nearby Playa del Ingles bar, and the concerts at the hotel on some evenings are also a nuisance, but generally it is a quiet hotel. The best thing: no music by the pool! Not a lot of children either, which is a good thing for those looking for a quiet experience. Lots of loungers at the pool so no jostling for space. Pool hours fine, you could also swim in the evening if you like/if weather permits. - Location: Very good. Everybody knows this part of Gran Canaria is very touristy, but since this hotel is right on the border between tacky Playa del Ingles and more up-scale Maspalomas/Meloneras, you get the nice views and better quality of Maspalomas, but at a lower price. - Food: Very good. Do not expect exceptionally good food, but the quality is decent enough and there is a large choice. Every evening had a different food theme, so the variety was good. I recommend the half-board (breakfast and dinner) arrangement, it doesn't add too much to the price and most restaurants in the neighbourhood are not offering better fare anyway. For 4 nights, this was fine. - Price/quality. Very good. Cheaper than hotels in Meloneras, better than hotels in Playa del Ingles. You can rent by day even in high season, which is great, so you can combine your stay here with some days at another location. We stayed a few days at the Parador in the mountains which was fantastic, but also Puerto de Mogan, Galdar or Las Palmas would make a nice combination

From the minute I walked in to the minute I left I loved everything about the staff at reception to the staff at breakfast ( particularly Tracey who was just the most lovely, bubbly and so good at her job with everyone she dealt with ) to the staff at dinner. ( there was the odd mardy looking ones but you get that everywhere. Deal with them the way they deal with you and that also can be said for the other guests at the hotel. Predominantly German I’d say and generally really well mannered bar a few who thought the hotel and food was for their priority but yet again you always get ill mannered people everywhere in life. Expected but not welcome. Highly recommend this hotel for the friendliness, cleanliness, position and the food. ( a little repetitive but superb quality )

I came home yesterday from this amazing hotel. Clean, neat and modern! The bed was comfortable and the cleaning of the room worked flawlessly. Good selection at the breakfast buffet and on my birthday I was surprised with a bottle of wine in my hotel room. Junior who works at the reception did everything to make me feel comfortable and welcome. I can really recommend the hotel to those of you who want to stay in Playa del Ingles.
