HL Suitehotel Playa del Inglés - Adults Only

I stayed at the HL Suite Hotel, Playa Del Ingles as a solo traveller from 28/11/24 to 05/12/24. As I was hoping to spend the majority of my holiday time enjoying the sunshine in the privacy of my room balcony, I sent an email to the hotel well in advance of my stay making them aware of this and asking if they would consider allocating a room for me which had a sunny balcony in the afternoon rather than the early part of the day. Reception very kindly acknowledged my request. I was so disappointed with my room allocation - Room C16. This room was in an annexe to the main hotel building tucked away as far as could possibly be from the seafront. The balcony had no sunshine for any part of the day until as shown in the attached image taken at 4:28pm. There was a flat roof leading up to my balcony with no obvious security measure to prevent anybody climbing onto it and accessing my balcony, for this reason the balcony door was never left open as this gave me cause for concern. The chairs on the balcony were very uncomfortable although I did not use them for more than five minutes. Perhaps reclining chairs would be more appropriate in particular for the ‘sunnier’ balconies. I feel that I have paid a premium for my room at single occupancy rates which means that I would be reluctant to do so again in the hope of getting a better room. On the positive side, all areas of the hotel were always immaculately clean and well maintained. The food and service was brilliant. Staff were always pleasant and helpful.

Had a wonderful time at the Suite Hotel. We found our room spacious and spotlessly clean, as was the whole hotel with people constantly cleaning the place. The pool are was lovely and always plenty of Sunbeds free, at no time did we feel we had to reserve beds, even in the more sort after areas. We really loved Victor, who served behind the poolside bar, lovely bloke. At meal times the food had a different theme each night (Indian, Italian, Mexican etc), but there was a BBQ most nights and always someone cooking meat fresh for you. We thought the food was the best all inclusive food we’ve ever had. At no time did we feel we’d exhausted the choice and that we might go out for a meal. Our only three gripes was the aqua aerobics every day, does the music HAVE to be that loud, some of the higher end drinks aren’t on the all inclusive included drinks and the playlist on the roof top bar. But let’s face it, if that’s the only things wrong, you don’t have a problem. Would certainly recommend the place.

Only 2 days left off our 14 days we had an amazing time at the HL SUITE I have been to Gran Canaria around 19 times in all different hotels and I got to say this has been one of the best experiences. Beds were real comfy very clean rooms food was excellent staff were friendly views at the top roof fantastic along with top bar and 2 sunbathing areas one for naturist other for textile both with little plunge pools Also my partner had facial and Massage by Carlota she said one of the best she had so this is a must for the ladies not expensive for the professional service she received we def come back to this hotel last thing I will say no matter where you stay there will always be negative views so I say try this hotel you won’t be disappointed

Just returned from my 2nd visit to this hotel ..again lovely and clean .friendly staff some even remembered me from last year .. had an issue with my safe reported it to reception and it was sorted straight away .. food was good same as any where ..have seen reviews about the cocktails saying there wasn’t good but I tried them and no complaint.. will be bk again but not next year going to try a different hotel at a different resort.. as a solo traveler I felt very safe at this hotel

This was my 3rd stay at this lovely hotel, and I’m returning in November. Rooms are excellent - I always email ahead to ask for a quiet room on a high floor, and I always get what I ask for. Particularly impressed with the food - I love the fact that you can get freshly cooked meat or fish every evening for dinner. This time I was very impressed with the Asian themed evening- great sushi and an amazing freshly cooked stir fry. All the staff were brilliant. A very helpful man on reception advised us what to do when we arrived having had one of our suitcases stolen off the local bus. Bar staff on the roof were all excellent - especially Jessica and Serge. Waiting staff also excellent- Dylan stood out. The hotel location is perfect- 5 mins to the beach and a €5 taxi to just about anywhere else you need to go in the resort. We particularly liked the roof top bar as well as the jacuzzi sunbathing areas, also tried out the basement spa which is well equipped. We went AI and were impressed that quality spirits were included . I will definitely be coming back

Let’s be fair, this is a lovely hotel, nice rooms, excellent daily cleaning, beautiful rooftop bar area and overall, a nice relaxed place. However, just a few little complaints which I think could and should be addressed by the management. We were told when checking in that long trousers MUST be worn at dinner, ( which we always did ), but a fair few men wore shorts and were never challenged. If you’re setting rules, make sure they’re enforced. In the lounge bar we ordered our drinks and were told they’d be brought to our table. This sometimes took over 20 minutes which is unacceptable. We should be able to order at the bar and take our drinks away with us… Simple. 64 tv channels and only one English speaking channel, GB news which I was happy about as I watch that regularly. However, half the time there was no signal on that particular channel !. One out of 64 is pretty poor. Food generally was good but undoubtedly catered for the Euros rather than British, (especially breakfast), which I suppose is fair as the hotel was 85% Germans. And what we found was staggering, lots of cheese and NO biscuits at dinner !!. And finally, wherever we stay normally, we are greeted for dinner and seated. Here it’s a free for all and as we were a party of 4, rarely managed to sit together and to be fair, the guys who seemed to be in charge weren’t much use. The whole system in the dining room seems a little disorganised as far as the staff are concerned. So, overall, lovely hotel but if the above were addressed by the management, I’d give it 5 stars and it’d be a ‘brilliant’ hotel.
