Location was perfect, also parking for the car. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was les to our preference, bc we don’t eat many things, we love to have a buffet style. Anyhow, they were very nice and tried to help in anyway they could. The condo was amazing, including the kitchen, the living room and bathroom. The only thing is that we got soap, shampoo and the rest only the first day ( out of 5) will definitely come back and recommend.

I loved the pool area- was nice to get cooled off, as pool is shaded from the trees.
Jacuzzi only had one chair that worked properly, one barely worked and the other not at all.
Loved the roof top area to our condo.
Staff was very nice and would bring what we needed upon request.

El Taj is a beautiful property located right on the beach. It’s well-maintained and clean. The front desk staff were helpful & friendly. Things I loved: the fresh bag of coffee and filters on the kitchen counter, the comfy bed, and the private patio, which even provided a view of the ocean.
What could have been better? El Taj’s ‘unique’ hotel-like set didn’t work for us. Most hotels offer restaurants, room service, gyms, and spas on site, and even simple things like ice machines. At El Taj though, all those services are more complicated.
Asi is the only restaurant on the property, and they close at 6PM. Too early for us. Most traditional hotel restaurants are open until 9-10PM. They also don’t have traditional room service. Getting ice was inconvenient. There are no ice machines like at traditional hotels. You have to go down to the front office if you want ice, and then a staff member will bring an entire bag, rather than a bucket. There is also no on-site gym or spa. Both are located a few blocks away.
Overall though, we liked El Taj. The property is a couple blocks from 5th Avenue, and despite being so close to all that activity, it is a relaxing and quiet place. That’s why the lack of on-site amenities wasn’t a big deal.
A note: The beach on the property is not suitable for swimming. Boats dock along the shore & the beach is narrow. Still, it’s a nice spot for relaxing on the loungers, and only a short walk to the larger main beach. All in all, it was a nice vacation.

Walls are thin. Was woken up early (5am) every morning from noise outside the street (I was in 342). Can hear people walking above you. Then when leaving, I was charged for “room damage” because the BLUE ironing board bled onto one of their towels. I explained that their ironing board stained my shirt when attempting to iron it but I didn’t think to charge them for the shirt. Their response: “show me a picture of the shirt”. Wow lol We were fully packed up with the car loaded and they wanted me to pull it out and show them rather than them checking the BLUE ironing board in the room. We normally stay next door at Playa Palms and we will be returning there next year as we have the precious 4 years except this one.

Lots of false advertising. There’s NO spa, not 2 restaurants there, gym is down the road few blocks. Partial ocean view room had NO sea view from room! There’s a slice of water view from patio which is outside unit and up exterior stairs. Hot tub old and small. On good side- service great from staff, patio huge with nice grill and lots of seating. Decent kitchen but broken dishwasher. Would not return.

The property is secluded and quite. Has excellent pools which are not very busy. The rooms are clean and the staff are pleasant. I did not enjoy the beach, filled with boats and unable to swim freely.

In visiting a new location for the first time, we do a considerable amount of research to ensure a safe, fun and active vacation. From the moment arriving, it felt like we were in a tropical garden with the lush landscaping throughout the four story open setting. The free parking was a plus located on the grounds. The unit hot tub was a treat each day along with the heated pools. The office management and concierge were exceptional along with related staff in making our stay memorable. The location, three blocks from the long blocked off 5th Avenue is extremely convenient to an abundunce of restaurants and shopping. Each unit has table and chairs outside to enjoy morning sunrise with coffee or evening wine.In summary we felt VERY safe walking around town at night, which is important to us! Of all the places we considered
