Spring Hotel Bitácora

Pelayo and the whole animation group for children was super. Big playground. Nice waterslides and pools. Have been here 3 years in a row. Food is very good - breakfast/dinner package is nice. The 7 day package gives you free transfer to hotel and airport.

The hotel is amazing. The entertainment team are excellent at making you enjoy your time. I reccomend Pelayo, Rachel, Fran (my best friend ) The food is awesome there is so much to eat with a range of foods We love the snack bar I reccomending going all inclusive it's totally worth it !!!!

This was my first solo holiday and from the moment I walked into reception I felt at ease and comfortable. My room wasn’t ready when I arrived but I had added Up (this is for over 18s and gives you exclusive access to a rooftop area, pool, jacuzzi, sun beds, bar and food) when booking my all inclusive holiday. The lovely man who greeted me on reception suggested I go up there and get a drink and have a look around. I did and it was stunning. Quiet, clean and welcoming. I got a drink and sat down taking in the view. I went downstairs and checked into my room. It was lovely. A very good size, 2 single beds, a good sized bathroom with a large shower that had both hand held shower head and a rain shower attached to the ceiling. There was a crack in the bottom of the shower but it didn’t affect my use. There was a comfy sofa, 4 drawers, shelves and hanging space too. There was a safe which I had access to. I also had a coffee machine, kettle and mini fridge in my room. The view from my balcony wasn’t amazing, it was of an abandoned hotel, however, this wasn’t an issue for me as I only used my room to sleep, shower and change as I was out a lot. I personally feel the food choice was fabulous. I was spoiled for choice. I tried to eat differently as much as I could. I never went to the main dining room for lunch but did for breakfast and dinner. The food was great quality and the staff in the restaurant were fantastic. They were welcoming, friendly, attentive and made me feel comfortable. As you can imagine, eating alone can be a little nerve wracking but the staff were wonderful. One gentleman suggested wine for me, which was lovely and then they would put the cork back in and keep it for the next night. The staff cleared away quickly between courses and kept the restaurant looking clean and tidy. Most evenings I went into the fun bar after dinner. They had different acts on and I think your like of this is personal as we don’t all like the same things. It’s clear they try to book acts for all ages. There were some acts that I preferred to others. Again, in here the staff were attentive, it was welcoming for all ages and the staff serve you at the table, again, they were all lovely. I mainly spent my days on the roof. The sun beds were comfortable and towels were provided. I used the jacuzzi and the pool numerous times. There were hot drinks, water, fresh orange juice, lager, cider, wines and Prosecco you could help yourself to, alongside some lovely foods, breakfast and lunch. There was also a fully stocked bar. Again, the staff were fantastic, attentive, chatty and friendly. One evening I was invited to a meal on the roof and it was absolutely beautiful. We had some Prosecco on arrival followed by a number of courses, all of which was very tasty. My glass was topped up with wine on request. It was a little windy up there, however the staff offered blankets, which was a nice idea. One day I went downstairs to the outdoor bar and order

This was my first holiday travelling alone with my 9-year-old daughter, so I was naturally a bit nervous. On arrival, we were told that our room had been overbooked and we’d need to come back the next day — but to make up for it, we were upgraded to all inclusive, which was a lovely gesture! That first night, we stayed at the sister hotel just across the road. It was absolutely beautiful! We had breakfast there, and were also allowed to use the pool — it was a great start to the trip. Check-in at the Bitácora the next day was super easy. You’re given a wristband that doubles as your room key, which is so handy. One of our favourite features was being able to order snacks in between meals from touchscreen machines — just tap your wristband, pick what you want, and your food is freshly prepared in minutes. Such a great idea! The food overall had a huge selection, always something for both me and my daughter. The hotel rooms were high quality, spotlessly clean, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay. There were loads of activities and clubs for the kids, and one night there was even a "Pink Night" event with amazing live performances, including gymnastics! The location is fantastic — just a 10-minute walk to the beach, and so much to do nearby. We booked several activities including boat trips, Aqualand, and a visit to the zoo. This holiday really exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to return — such a fun, stress-free, and memorable experience for both of us! --- Let me know if you want a shorter version too!

We arrived at the hotel to be told “you can’t stay here today, but you can come back at midday tomorrow and will be upgraded to all inclusive”. We walked with our luggage across the road to their sister hotel. I have been coming to the Bitacora since I was a child and now bringing my children, never again!! To cut an extremely depressing and long story short.. We were sent to a building site for the night not a hotel, and for that pleasure we were made to sign a waiver before being allowed to stay back at the Bitacora the following day. We were threatened with being removed from the hotel if we didn’t sign and our upgrade for the inconvenience removed too!! We were given no explanation for not being able to stay other than an “incident” had occurred. We spoke to several other families also unable to stay due to this “incident”. Once finally settled things didn’t really improve. Our room was poorly maintained and the same dirt on the floor there the entire stay despite being promised a deep clean. By the end of the stay I could write my name in the dust on the balcony, kettle, worktops and bins. One day the maid only made 2/3 beds even. The queuing for EVERYTHING is highly frustrating. The poolside was rarely cleaned. If you got an umbrella that wasn’t broken you were on par with winning the lottery!! The lifeguards seem unable to efficiently watch all areas. We witnessed one man save his daughter and no attendance the entire drama from anyone from the hotel. We also witnessed three children being pulled from the water. The restaurant wasn’t much better, we declined using it after a couple of days as we couldn’t cope with queuing for a table and then praying there would be a tray of the rarely replaced chips for our (fussy) child. I have been coming to Tenerife every year and can honestly say the decline in this hotel and the rudeness of the majority of the staff ruined our stay. Finally I would like to add that I’m fully aware people have differing opinions and some love the Bitacora, but as part of the entertainment program was being asked to give a review in exchange for gifts is a good indication that they’re desperate to buy ratings rather than earn them!!

Recently returned from a trip here last night, spent 10 days with friends and family. I'd say the hotel complex as a whole is decent, but the service is truly terrible. From the very first day the majority (not all) of staff have attitude problems, their speed of service is very obvious that they have no care or pleasure to be there, if the bar is 4/5 people then your waiting at least 15 mins for a drink. There were 2 members of staff in particular (Valeree & Tania) who were the worst members of staff for me personally, and funnily enough speaking with other people staying in the resort shared the same views. Simple requests such as a type of drink or an additional drink were met with hostility. The food on a daily basis in the buffet was very simple & repetetive. Also, one of the main ones, SUN BEDS, the situation in the morning to get a sunbed is not policed at all by staff, so its a free for all at 7am daily to which grown adults are sprinting across pool areas throwing towels on beds. A simple on line booking sytem for sun beds by the hotel (which ive experienced before) will sort this mess out. The buffet restaurant is constantly queued whilst the food court is half empty (again highlighting the slow service). Life guards at the pool were present but no existing. Personally saw 2 kids have to be pulled from the pool from adults. The rooms however are a decent size, in good condition, daily room service is good as well. The UP! Facilities that are available which is an adult only area on the roof rop is superb, outstanding views and very spacious and quiet with self sevice drinks etc. I've stayed in tenerife now 5 times, each at a different hotel (which were cheaper might I add) and had fantastic service and have left feeling delighted and thankfull for the staffs efforts. Sadly this hotel is not one of them. If your looking to use this hotel without children I'd definitely avoid. Will not be returning.
