Sandos Atlantic Gardens

We have just returned from our third holiday at Atlantic Gardens and as usual, we were not disappointed. This venue aims to provide a peaceful and quiet relaxing holiday and we always joke that it is not “Club 18-30", more Club 50-80! We (my husband and I) are at the lower end of that bracket! In fact, the main spoiler we had on this occasion were a group of seven noisy females who disrupted the peace and tranquility around the pool, much to the annoyance of ourselves and many other patrons. The second issue was just the incessant loud chatting some people do for hours on end around the pool (and maybe is just stands out as the pool in general is very quiet). Unfortunately, you can never know who you will be sharing your holiday with and some people want to socialise when others want to chill and relax. One of the main reasons we love Atlantic Gardens as it (usually!) gives us a peaceful and relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings with excellent facilities which we enjoy. There are many other holidays which provide loud entertainment and a party environment and this is just not one of the them which is why we keep returning. We arrived mid-afternoon and there were still many sunbeds available and everyday we were there, there were always lots unused sunbeds. As at every holiday location, prime positions are always reserved very early in the morning but as there were so many spare sunbeds, it is not a problem. We also found that there were many more parasols than previous visits which is great for some but as complete sun worshippers, it does make it slightly more difficult to ensure you are in a location all day without shade! I personally love the fact that the accommodation are private bungalows which give plenty of space. Front patio, lounge with kettle and fridge (hot beverage supplies and a bottle of water on arrival which can be refilled from the water stations in the bar and dining room). Bedroom with large wardrobe, bathroom with shower and rear enclosed patio. We even arrived to find a bottle of pink prosecco and choccies which was greatly appreciated and a nice touch! We also had a lovely sea view which we particularly enjoy as we do not attend the evening entertainment, preferring to sit on our patio in the evenings. The bungalow we were in on this occasion had been freshly painted and several replacement fittings in the bathroom. The bedroom had also had additions of USB charging sockets. The cleaners who service the bungalows do a fantastic job and we finish our day walking into our beautifully cleaned and serviced bungalow, fresh towels and toiletries replenished every day. On initial arrival you given a comb, toothbrushes and paste, soap, shower gel, shampoo and body lotion with the latter four being topped up for the duration of your stay. A big shout out to the cleaners who start their day around the bar and communal areas before servicing the bungalows. You ladies are great and do a fantastic job, thank you!

First time to the resort and with the mixed reviews was a little apprehensive. No need to have been. A a friendly welcome on arrival, went for a drink in the sunshine ☀️ and room was ready. Bungalow 225 very easy to find and spotlessly clean. Air conditioning worked well and did not have any trouble with ants or cockroaches ( thankfully lol or you would have heard me). The food in the restaurant was varied and always good. Big shout out for Victor, Mike and Diego or looked after the diners with drinks and then in the bar after six. The drinks we tried were the self pour beer (got the knack how to get one after being shown a couple of times and then pass knowledge to others). During the day there was various things to get involved with and proved fun. Entertainment at night was good except for Sunday evening, in my opinion, others may have enjoyed it. Pools are great, cold to get in, fine afterwards. All in all a great quiet (yes no music around the pool, bliss) relaxing holiday and we will definitely return. Got a bit of a cool reception when we arrived with the first words being ‘I need your passports’ not a good start. I probably didn’t research as much as I usually do before I came so some of this is my fault. We got to the room and having being robbed once on a holiday many years ago always look for the safety deposit box to put our valuables and passports in. It wasn’t mentioned when we arrived that you need a key which can be purchased for €30 plus a €12 deposit. It also wasn’t mentioned that there are no beach towels provided by the hotel so you’ll either need to take your own or you can buy from the hotel at €12 The rooms are a bit tired but I like the bungalow set up. Maybe even a few pictures on the wall would have made them a bit more homely but they are very clean and the maids work hard. TUI didn’t offer a sea view option so I emailed the hotel direct and was told I could sort it when I got there for €160 if it was available. We did get our sea view room and room 301 was the closest there is to the sea so we were well pleased with that. There were no sun beds on the patio but I carried 2 down from the pool and they remained there for the rest of our holiday so we had no scramble for beds and our own privacy. Food is OK but not great in the evening with limited choice and often Luke warm. We eat out a few nights and there are some nice restaurants nearby. The Asia Chinese is exceptional. The bar staff are quite remarkable and as there is only ever one working the bar I was astounded at how fast he served drinks and collected glasses when he didn’t have people waiting. The big disappointment is the cocktails. These are not cocktails so don’t offer them. I ordered a mojito and a margarita and they were delivered in seconds but they were not properly mixed cocktails. Equally surprising is how only one individual toilet for men and one for woman seemed to work OK for the whole bar and pool area. These were the negatives. The positives are that this is a very peaceful hotel in a great location. I thought the evening entertainment was pretty good overall, there were a few nights that didn’t appeal to us but you can’t please all of the people all of the time. Overall it was a good holiday
