We stayed at Villa Samba in Plat for a week in May 2023 as a couple to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I booked this directly with Nikola after finding their website. We stayed in the one bedroom apartment. When we arrived we were collected from the airport (Dubrovnik airport) by Nikola’s Son, which we prearranged with Nikola via email. We stopped off at a supermarket on the way to Villa Samba so that we could stock up. The car journey only took around 15/20 minutes, we were surprised just how close to the airport Villa Samba is and it made it so much easier than getting on the usual holiday coach with everyone else! Nikola’s son also gave us a lift back to the airport on our return journey which was also prearranged. When we arrived at Villa Samba we were shown around the apartment then had a short time to unpack while they were waiting for other guests to arrive. The apartment was exactly as per the photos, very clean, kitchen/living area with balcony to the side, bathroom with shower cubical and double bedroom with TV and balcony. The balcony off the bedroom is to the front and has a view onto the quiet road and sea. The kitchen had a 2 ring electric hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There was no oven in the apartment we stayed in and no freezer – we expected this prior to arrival as it does clearly say on the website, however it contained everything that we needed for our week’s stay. The pool area is at the back of Villa Samba up some stairs and is lovely and clean (Nikola cleaned daily). There is a small supermarket (like a Co-Op) a 10-15 minute walk from Villa Samba which has opened recently. It doesn’t seem to get very busy so I would check before travelling that it is still there and open. When everyone arrived we were called to the welcome chat where we were offered a glass of Nikola’s homemade red wine or coffee (both were lovely). Nikola gave us lots of useful information about the area, different places to visit and trips that we could do. We found this really useful and it matched the information that I found when researching online. We chose the location of Villa Samba as we wanted to spend time in Dubrovnik with the benefit of being able to visit other places too. On our first full day we decided to get the bus into Dubrovnik, the bus stop is a 5 minute walk from Villa Samba and a bus timetable was in the apartment. The bus into Dubrovnik was 2.90 euro per person and took around 20-25 minutes to reach the old town of Dubrovnik. If you prefer taxis Ubers are really good value and cheaper than what they are in the UK. I would recommend that if you would like to visit Dubrovnik try to look at what cruise ships are in on each day first and avoid those days if possible as it gets very busy. We purchased the Dubrovnik pass online and walked the walls early in the morning (to avoid the crowds), it really is an amazing place and the views are spectacular! We also took the cable car (27 euro per person return) up to the
