Tsilivi Beach Hotel Zakynthos

Location of the hotel is ideal for families took us around 25 mins to get to from the airport. Easy to get to the beach, but you will need to pay for a lounger or just take a towel and sit on the beach. The sea is beautiful. Pools are a little cold and we did struggle to get a lounger. But we were normally able to get one mid afternoon. The hotel state you can’t reserve beds before 9am but there were always towels out and even people laid out well before 9am. The shower in our room went hot and cold everytime we used it. But otherwise okay. We had a few days where towels were taken and not enough replacements provided. Which resulted in me having to go to reception while my husband was mid shower. The food was better than expected, though after a few days it gets a little repetitive. As someone with food intolerances I found the food wasn’t labelled well at all. Some not at all. I don’t have allergies so didn’t ask staff just used common sense and caution when picking my meals. Our room was in need of some repairs and the aircon was leaking on the sideboard. Shelves wonky in bathroom and room but minor issues. The bed was comfortable and the aircon did work well. Overall happy with our experience at the hotel and would definitely go back to the area as there was plenty to do.

After looking at the reviews for this hotel I was a little concerned. Many reviews were negative about several things. This is what my family of 4 (two adults and two children) thought. The hotel is pretty and on arrival we were greeted by smiley staff who directed us to our family room. The room had a double bed and bunk beds and was very clean. ( if I was to be negative I would say there wasn’t quite enough storage for a family of 4). The hotel is in a great location, right on the beach and a short walking distance from many bars, shops and restaurants. The two pools are a great size. The food was what you would expect from an all inclusive hotel, some of it very tasty and some mass produced but ok. We ate out a couple of time for variety but over all found the food in the hotel enjoyable. My son is celiac and the staff were brilliant (especially one man, didn’t get his name) they were very knowledgeable about what he could and couldn’t eat and cooked things to order for him which was amazing. There was not really any evening entertainment so we went out most evenings but the entertainment during the day was great for my sport loving boys, tables tennis tournaments, darts, basketball, football and water polo to name a few. Plus the young staff who ran the entertainment were amazing and very engaging with people of all ages. Over all I would say that this is a great all inclusive hotel in a great location but would maybe argue that it was a 3 star and not a 4 star.

Family holiday with our 6 year old hotel looks like it does in the photos but the experience is quite different the food is below average myself and partner ate what we could our child lived off dry spaghetti and chips for a week. Is not catered for children food is luke warm or cold and no rotation/fifo hot chips put on top of cold left over ones lots of pork and chicken but very dry. Pinapple was nearly brown I guess from in and out of fridge and reserved. The coffee was nice I may add. We opted for all inclusive but no bottles of water anywhere if you want water you need to go in to the restaurant and use the dispenser not ideal in 35.c heat or for children. Snack bar is pizza and chips everyday! And sandwiches wrapped in cling film all ham and cheese no veggie option. Alcohol well.... if your expecting bottled beers or smirnoff anything spirit wise like that you wont be getting it . you have a choice of six cocktails which are all cheap Greek alcohol not very nice or choice of two mocktails if a non drinker!! . Rooms cleanliness it is explained one day a week they dont clean no problem but our sheets were not changed once and limited towels and toilet roll had to ask for more. The wardrobe smelt bad of damp so we lived out of our suitcases. The bathroom very unsafe for children all wet floor half a shower door so water runs out everywhere. Our safe code stopped working so had to ring reception to come and reset which they did. Entertainment pool zumba darts board and singing in the evening. Kids club entertainment basically sang in a circle with kids shouting banana! And singing Greek songs. We were in room 607 end of corridor kept awake almost every night because of other guests shouting and banging. When we requested a room change they said no were full the next day approached my partner and said we could change but was near another exit so we declined. We booked a sea view but got pool view although when we stepped out of the hotel you could see the sea at the side which was ok. States on booking sunbeds are free as right on beach but there not you have to pay 20 euros for the day. Sunbeds around the pool what a drama!! Guests were up at 5.30 am putting towels out to reserve them even tho it clearly states beds not to be reserved! This happened all week first day had to sit at the side of pool. By our last day the staff slipped a note on every lounger and under every room door that the sun beds are not to be reserved before 9am if they are the towels will be removed so guess what there were no towels out on the last day!! The pool drainage is sharp and our daughter cut her toes taking the skin off and bleeding quite a bit when we reported this the hotel manager margarita was not apologetic and said what do you expect me to do? We said make it safe. We saw three other children do the same thing during our stay. But Julia on desk at reception was very accommodating and helped with first aid. And provided a small toy to calm our child down
